I'm picking up my superjet next week and wanna make sure the bunks on my trailer will be ok. It's a loadrite couch trailer and I have the bunks as far inward as possible and angled as much as possible. I think it should be alright but wanted a second opinion before picking the ski up.
Inside...
I'm also considering moving the entire tongue back. Shouldn't be too much work.
Also, since I want to get a trailer box I considered just mounting a bow stop to the back of the box. Im just not sure how high the superjet nose will be on the bunks.
Any other ideas?
So I picked up a newer Loadrite couch trailer really cheap. Obviously designed to hold those 15' barges. I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to adjust the bow stop to accommodate my superjet I'm getting next month. Looking for ideas. I haven't picked up the trailer yet so I haven't taken...
Always has been the spot for surf riding! I never got down there years ago since my skis were stored in Central Jersey. Since I'm more south now maybe I'll swing by some time for some surf riding. Whenever I felt the itch for surf I would use the LBI ramp behind Barnegat years ago.
Sweet man! I live in the city with no storage so I'm going to be storing my ski at a friends house close to Croydan. I love that area on the river. Lots of heavy boat wakes and a sandy and free ramp there to launch. Never been to Falls township ramp but always willing to check out new ramps...
PVC is too brittle. Hit some chop and I wouldn't be surprised to see it crack and there goes your SJ tumbling into the water at 30mph!
If you make one I'd def be interested in knowing how it worked out!
I also think a kayak would roll easily unless towing at a super slow pace. Plus it would be hard to get the ski into it.
Found that pic I was talking about!
If I understand you correctly, you're asking about towing an SJ in the water? Two problems. #1 you'd have to install a water cutoff on the water intake line. Not a big deal and I installed one on each engine in my jetboat in case I ever need to operate on one engine. But the biggest problem...
I'd rather not add anything semi permanent to the boat that could hurt resale. I'm eventually going to get a larger cruiser one day.
I really like the dinghy idea. It's the most convenient too since it won't be in the way. Plus it'll provide a place to store the ski while docked in my marina.
Yeah I found some owners manual. I'm thinking if I go this route of cutting out a middle piece of the rear transom and having it being able to swing down and then swing it back up for towing.
Love it. Bought it new in 2012 and haven't had a single issue with it. I only use it on a river though. They're light boats and I wouldn't like it on very choppy water. But handling wise it'll out maneuver a regular boat and it rides like it's on rails. There is a learning curve with jet boats...
You got me thinking along the lines of rafts....
Then I thought about an inflatable dinghy!

I wonder if the rear transom is structurally needed or if I could make it removable...
Yeah, I just edited my response after looking into them. I think I could secure it since it has handles on the tube. The 4 place tube could handle the weight and it should tow nicely. My only concern would be how hard it would be to get onto the tube from the water. Especially deep water with...
I'd be worried about popping those. They're not cheap! Interesting idea, though.
Edited- have me thinking this might not be a bad idea. I could prob even keep it inflated next to my boat at the marina. I just wonder how hard it would be to get the SJ onto the tube from the water?
I know I've seen a pic around somewhere with a superjet hauled onto a yam jetboat. Has anyone here built something to either tow their SJ behind a boat in the water or some kind of ramp to bring it onto their swim deck?
I have a Yamaha 242 limited S jetboat. The pic I saw was of a SJ winched up...
Everything else is bone stock except for jet trim mats he's including. He is the second owner and first owner installed the pipe and heads.
An old friend that use to live in Jersey and now lives in Atlanta (hmmm wonder who) hit me up and has the same year ski with more mods for less money. So...
