Ive never seen any snap like that , however it has 15 years of wear on it so Im sure it can happen . A good used or new stock unit would be fine . UMI would be perfect if you want to add 10 Lbs to your ski ... they are heavy . I personally like the stock unit just for weight , simplicity...

one mile north on the left you cant miss it , boat ramp , then ski to campground beach ,then go back to get vehicle ....its worth it !

many have done this , allows you to ride DOWN a wave face with out becoming a sand dart,makes EASYsidemounts in heavy surf, pops your nose up when ever ya need it . they say it helps on backflips to but you'll need to ask ''ZIMMY'' that one
