Hulls are the same, the sxi is a big pin dual carb motor. I wouldnt use either for freestyle, they are very heavy.

You wont gain any hook up without a top loader or a larger pump, and im not convinced my top loader even made a big difference. Youll just have more power when the pump does decide to grab. EDIT - Im running a ported coffman sizzler, good value if you can find one.

With my hood lying somewhat obscured on the ground behind my ski - "How do you keep that thing from sinking?"

I did the same as chadetroit. Even with the extreme outward bow on my hood, it still seals it up nicely as far as i can tell.

I have a skat 19-24 and its a decent improvement over stock. The pump still cavitates through messy water and on landings though. I dont think you'll get any huge bottom end with the stock pump.

I like the JD plate. I've only ridden stock and JD, but the JD plate keeps the hull in line much better. It was a little wierd to get used to, bucked me off the highside a few times before i adjusted my riding. Makes a fun hull even more fun imo.

Every time my ski gives me trouble, I blow something up, or can't figure something out, this video gives me the motivation to get back on the water. One day...

IIRC stock jets are 115 and 135, 1.5ns, and 115g spring.

Reviving this thread from it's watery grave. Lets see some more fx-1 love people. WSM Platinums, 710cc bore, Sizzler exhaust, protec head, lightweight flywheel, JD intake and plate, skat prop sitting on my bench waiting for an impeller tool, lol.

I also ordered a hood seal on monday morning and it went out same day. Scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Very fast turnaround!
