Not to take anything away from Erik for designing what looks to be a great cylinder but Detonation will still ruin a nikasil cylinder. I know it happened to my stxr.

That was a pretty good grenade. Sometimes it just bad luck.
I know of stock sxr's with hundreds of hrs on them that are still running. If you take care of them, use good oil and gas, and don't flood motor often a stock motor can last a long time.
So do you still have the choke plates in? aftermarket filter or stock?
Back in 03 I had dry pipe on stock ski and the ffp jetting was right on just tweaked the screws. This was with chokes in and stock air filter.
