i just bout a 550 sx this thang is crazy it hits so damb hard off the bottom and mid my arms feel longer lol

well i got the carb from a buddy at work he told me its a 46mm but i checked the bore and its more like 45mm at the bottom of the throat where it mounts on to the intake and it looks like its just a little smaller down in there where the buterfly is
the carb is silver and i looked in the parts...
i have installed a 46mm sbn makuni carb on my piston port ride and im wanting to know what everyone is running in there carbs for jetting
what sizes of main jets, pilot jets,and what do you have your pop off set at
im needing a good starting point for this carb
i dont want to burn up my motor
the first thing i would do is pull the carb and inside the carb there is a little fuel filter
do you know what styl carb you have
i would also clean the carb while you are checking for trash in the filter
what i have seen is that this new fuel we are getting now days isnt so good on our...
there is more that one way to burn up a motor but if you are going from two carbs to one carb you are choking the motor
you gotta think of a motor as an air pump
the only thing good you are gonna get from a single carb is easy tuning
since you only have one carb to tune for two cylinders...
