Glad to see im not the only one who put it on backwards at first lol but once i switched it to the correct position it fired right up. not sure how much difference this makes to a stock ski because i did mine along with a Factory Limited Pipe and moved to 80 pilot jets and was testing it on st...
I will say i have never flipped a ski but i am an avid wakeboarder and im aware of how restricting water can be at low speeds. It looks like just before you hit the wake your ski dips lower in the water right before you grab that hand full of throttle. I think if you gave yourself another 2-4...
would it be cheaper to have the machine work done and get oversized pistons or just find used cylinders and get those pistons off sxi steve. if it were my machine id go bigger but he doesnt have the money to do all that.
just pulled the heads and that cylinder is definitely scored not terrible but i know a little score can go a long way. the issue is he doesnt have the money to be dumping into this. im thinking the cheapest route would be to find a set of used cylinders on here and maybe get those stock pistons...
It was cold out and it idled for just a few minutes but yea the gas we took out of it looked nasty. definitely had oil in it but like i said the kid who had it before was a sandwich short of picnic. Steve i will let you know if he needs to buy those. My buddy andrew with the Rickter said he has...
gonna get into it tonight. im praying that it just needs a piston and ring. the kid who had it before knew hardly anything about skis. any imperfections i should be looking for on the cyl. walls ring or piston that could help me decipher the problem.
Thanks
So my friend just bought a 98 sxi pro and it ran when we went to look at it. Once we got it home and got it in the water after riding for only 2-4 minutes it died out and wouldnt start so we tow it in and did a compression test. 135-140 in front cylinder and 55 in the back one. Could this be a...
buddy of mine just picked up an sxi pro for cheap to put some TLC into and it sounded like it was turning over a little slow so we took battery wires off and cut them back a bit to get some fresh wire that wasn't chewed up and to clean the corrosion off and when we were loosening the bolt...
We are looking at spark right now trying to switch boots to each wire to see if spark differs but nothing consistant. It did a few times look like weak spark what is going on here i saw a tiny spark come off the positive wire battery nut and it burned a big circle in my finger when i touched it...
Just picked up another sxi pro and got it in the water and rode for about 4 minutes and then once we were out in the middle of the lake it died. battery seemed weak so i charged it up and still wouldnt start which led me to check spark and sure enough back cylinder had some spark but not at all...
