If you ground the white wire off the CDI (RIVA purple box in this scenario) and your ski still doesn't shut down, is it safe to confirm that the issue lies within the CDI?
I have chased this annoying issue right to the box. I have solid continuity and all switches are working correctly...

I always minimize the gaps when I get the plugs. I visually smash them down to about 6 sheets of paper.
njfl was right on when talking about shrinking the gaps. It absolutely works (at least in racing applications on stock boats).
Oh - I haven't changed my plugs in 1.5 years.
...all depends on your skill level. If you're new to racing, just get out there and learn how it rides. Get faster in the corners until you can tell exactly what's holding your times back. Then (and not until then) should you be worried about getting too jiggy with mods. You can spend a ton...
