Super Jet Can a flow control valve cause poor running / overheating?

I freshened up my ski, and as part of that installed a flow control valve. It is the only thing I actually changed, apart from the prop to a 9-15 hooker. I did strip the engine, but just to change the crank seaks. Now after running for 15 or so mins it feels like it is overheating, and the...

Super Jet Calling all mechanics......i need serious help!!!!!!

did you check the start stop? Mine did almost exactly what you describe, I eventually worked out it was the stop button on the start stop switch causing a missfire. I stripped it and cleaned it and its been all good since.

    Other trailer lights

I have had various boat trailers and have never had a waterproof housing that worked for more than a few months. Sealed LED lights on the other hand work perfect. Mine were $50 and have been going for 2.5 years. Now its the plug into the car that corrodes lol.

    Super Jet smallest drain plug???

Yeah I used an M8 allen head bolt. I drilled and tapped a bit of 12mm plate and epoxyed it to the inside of the hull. Then just put an o ring under the bolt head and it won't leak. Andrew

Other Attn Jeff @ Water Dawg

Beginning of Feb. He told me that the hood kit was in stock, that it would ship the next day and that it would take 8-10 days delivery. I understand shipping can be slow, if thats the case i'm not bothered, but if he hasn't sent the hood yet I will be bothered. I'm starting to see that its...

    Other help with stripped screw

I had to cut the head off with a dremel. Once you get that plate off you can put vice grips on the threaded part and they unscrew easy (no load on thread so seized area comes free). Then replace them with a bolt with allen key head.

    Other Payment Ethics Question

Yep I agree.. And thats only because bank transfers go in overnight, and not everyone can get on paypal all the time. If they are collecting then I expect them to have been over and payed by the end of the next coming weekend. The only exception is if someone says they will buy something, but...

Other So two years ago who would have thought

Just going back to the aftermarket oem hulls.. Say one of the hull builders stepped up and released a turnkey 'aftermarket' boat, aren't they going to have the exact same issues Yamaha have with it being a 2 stroke? Or am I missing something?

Super Jet Foam: EPS vs XPS

Yeah the XPS should not take on water. The EPS foam itself won't, but when you look at it its like tiny balls of foam stuck together, I'm concerned that water will get between the balls of foam. Would never be as bad as waterlogged foam, but still not desirable. I'll know once i put some in...

Super Jet Foam: EPS vs XPS

Hmm the properties look ok, I plan to reinforce anyway. I might weigh a bit, tie it to a brick and chuck it in the pool for a few weeks. Then pull it out and re weigh. It will be a couple of weeks before I'm ready for foam anyway. Andrew

Super Jet Foam: EPS vs XPS

I just bought some expanded polystyrene (EPS) for my refoam job; similar to what new household appliances are packed in. Will this be ok, or should I use extruded polystyrene (XPS). The EPS has some air gaps around the 'beads' of polystyrene that I guess could hold water. Is this an issue? I...

    Other Computer Aided Handlpole Design

How have you constrained the pole in the pancake loadcase? Would have expected more stress... Also have you considered that the thinner tube might fail in buckling/crushing rather than just yielding? FEA won't spot that... Andrew

Super Jet Wear ring and pump

I have just noticed there is a big gap between the impeller and the housing, and my ski feels like its calvitating (or just not hooking up). I think it has been like this for a while, but I have just noticed it when I added a b pipe, ADA head and epic ignition. I'm going to get a new...
