did you check the start stop? Mine did almost exactly what you describe, I eventually worked out it was the stop button on the start stop switch causing a missfire. I stripped it and cleaned it and its been all good since.

I have had various boat trailers and have never had a waterproof housing that worked for more than a few months. Sealed LED lights on the other hand work perfect. Mine were $50 and have been going for 2.5 years. Now its the plug into the car that corrodes lol.

Yeah I used an M8 allen head bolt. I drilled and tapped a bit of 12mm plate and epoxyed it to the inside of the hull. Then just put an o ring under the bolt head and it won't leak. Andrew

I had to cut the head off with a dremel. Once you get that plate off you can put vice grips on the threaded part and they unscrew easy (no load on thread so seized area comes free). Then replace them with a bolt with allen key head.

Yeah the XPS should not take on water. The EPS foam itself won't, but when you look at it its like tiny balls of foam stuck together, I'm concerned that water will get between the balls of foam. Would never be as bad as waterlogged foam, but still not desirable. I'll know once i put some in...

Hmm the properties look ok, I plan to reinforce anyway. I might weigh a bit, tie it to a brick and chuck it in the pool for a few weeks. Then pull it out and re weigh. It will be a couple of weeks before I'm ready for foam anyway. Andrew

Matt When you put the rideplate inserts back in, did you just redrill the ride plate to fit? Did you leave it std length or cut it down 2" as well? Sorry if its somewhere withing the 26 pages; I can't find it! Andrew

How have you constrained the pole in the pancake loadcase? Would have expected more stress... Also have you considered that the thinner tube might fail in buckling/crushing rather than just yielding? FEA won't spot that... Andrew
