Thanks, I was debating a few different crazy ones from Hydroturf. They have wood grain now. I was thinking about a Chris Craft theme with a teak dash. j/k I bought the hot knife at a hobby store. Check them out on line, mine took forever, but it was only 20 bucks.
that turf makes my head hurt.

That's exactly what I was going for!! Right on , pass the :439:

Well today was an interesting one, Frosty found my fuel leak. Screws came loose on the fuel pump on the back of the carbs. I'm still working on that one. We weighed my ski 323 lbs RTR, still has water in the water box, etc. So we lost about 17 lbs with the refoam, but I did reinforce at the same time, so the foam was somewhat wet, but not soaked. We'll see how she rides in Daytona. Maybe, I should slim down a bit too! LOL While we were at it we weighed a stock 701 motor I have sitting around. 83 lbs complete. Also worked on my constantly loose steering. I put in a thicker washer, longer SS bolt and a urethane lock nut. I even used red locktite again. It shouldn't ever move again. I need to clean up the carbs, put em back on and get the battery and tray back in. Then fix the bow eye tow strap. From now on I am not buying anyones crappy front strap. I broken three, and two different kinds. This will hold over 800 lbs, tested and Frosty & Superjet701 approved. LOL

Hey Frosty, stop smokin when you are helpin out Bro!

Thanks jet. Hopefully I can get this done and rock it for Daytona. Carbs are all rebuilt and cleaned up. I'm just making a light weight SS battery box, The ones I made before are indestructable, but heavy.

Nose is returfed and battery tray should be welded up for tomorrow. This was a prototype that was used for fitment. .6 lbs total weight and 316 SS construction! All thats left is the install of the battery and test run of the carbs. Then its time to load up for the trip east to meet up with the rest of the skis, for the ride to Daytona.

can't wait to get my new battery tray...

Ski looks great too... wait 'til everyone at Daytona gets aload of the turf in person... pics really do not do it any justice.

Heres the finished product. Sorry but it's a crappy cell phone pict. Ski is all done and hopefully on the way down south tomorrow.

Can't wait to get mine..

That battery tray looks sweet!

Hell yeah, Brian deigned it perfectly... it's pretty damn awesome! Notice the notched out corner to fit around Kenney Keepers?

You should consider selling those! Nice!

He's actually already designing another style... so there's likely to be two different tray types being made by Brian.

Make sure you use a GOOD organic vapor mask when using a hot knife on any extruded polystyrene foam. Dow foam gives off toxic hydrogen halides when heated (even by hand sanding). The regular packaging EPS styrofoam does not have this same problem. I only know because I did some research when I used dow foam on my x2.

Proformance1,
Turf looks VERY cool BTW. I love that pattern. Very high quality work all around.
