Well you have me there i have not ridden one, but i have ridden plenty of 750's and and 800's and honestly not impressed. Sure the 800 is great but it's a tank! The only time i did not feel the weight of that thing was with my buddies ski that has a ton of mods done do it. The 750 seemed sluggish too on the bottom. Now i have not ridden anything with the 1100 except for the ultra 150 which screams i can agree with that.
This is all just my opinion that's all. Seems like it would be easier to keep yamaha with yamaha but upon further reading the kit you guys provide is great for a quick easy swap.
750s, 800s and 1100s are turds in stock form. But, once you set a Kawi 1100 right, they rock. The ski in the vid above was one we built for a friend, all it had was a dried out pipe, non girdled head (150psi) and some off the shelf yamaha 44s from a wrecked gp1200. It didn't have a timing advance or reeds, lol.
There is a reason why all yamaha motors that make power are converted to flat tops, they make more power of the bottom, but, just have to be set up right. My sport spec open kawi (bolt ons only) is just as quick on pump gas as my old 8mil Powervalve lamey was with 220lbs of compression and total loss.
