They actually run really well with stock carbs set up right. You just need to get the pre 98 non cv carbs. Those carbs with flame arrestors and adaptors, running the stock jetting, works really good. No, they aren't as good as a triple set up of 46s, 48s, but for the money, they work good. Plus, with the accelerator pumps, you don't need a primer or choke.

Yah I have the pre 98 non cv carbs. just haven't had a fully working motor to set them up on YET.

I've got an OEM 44 rack from a GP1200 I'd sell you cheap. Needs throttle shafts replaced, but I think you would need to replace those to get it to work on a Kawi setup anyway.

The ski we built for John Grinager (johnfrmcali) had those stock GP44s and it ran great. That is the one on my youtube channel. Takes some work to get them set up for a Kawi, but definitely better than the stockers.

Scottie: What did you have to do to get them to fit? Did you have to replace the OEM shafts with the longer shafts?

Replace the shafts and had to mod the intake fittings because they are designed to work 2 into 3. We set his up to have a fuel pump on each carb. The brass fittings on the Yamaha carbs screw in, so Joe ended up having to sodder some t fittings into elbows. Nothing too scientific, just a process. But worth it, OEMs 44s aren't cheap.

Pretty much anywhere you can get Mikuni parts. You need a throttle valve kit with Mikuni Part number 703-89004 (extended shaft).

Gas tank is done in plasti-dip. Its a form of spray paint. Although I would not recommend plasti-dip on it as it is not gas friendly. U have to be careful! Lol but thanks!!
