How much weight gain can you expect doing an 1100 swap. Thinking of throwing one in my Trinity hull. What all is needed to make this swap. I rode one and it ripped!
Could not disagree more. My Sxr 1100 with only a high comp head made a stock 800 feel like a pig. I was surprised at how well the 1100 jumped waves too. Although that wouldn’t be my choice for a “wave boat” it’s deffinitely way better than you guys are making it out to be.Will feel like you are back on a stock hull with stock engine. Dont frt me wrong. It wi fly but heavy and tend to require more maintenance.
I am looking at it from the type riding DJ does. It would not be a good setup. Floor Lake Ripping and Bouy busting. All day long.Could not disagree more. dj, if i were you I’d keep it light and maybe get some more bolt one instead of a triple.
Head Bang................... This is a freeride hull he is wanting to do this to. It will make plenty of power. But like Scottie mac said. This will be hell on the motor mounts. I would go for more power from a different route. Even if it means converting to a Yamaha based powerplant. Honestly, BB what he has with a good port job.
You need carbs, ignition, and Ada head for an 1100 to really come alive. It getd kind of pricey when you add it up. I was gonna put one in a s.j. and this is what I was told by very reputable racers that I trust.
That's not too bad. I was under the impression the stock carbs we'rent easy to adjust. And the guys giving the adivce were Looking at it from a gp class perspective.Depends on if you are talking 1100 kawi or Yamaha. The kawi 1100 works really well with the stock 97-98 non cv carbs. And, you don’t need an ignition, just the timing advance plate. Plus, the stock head can be cut. It’s a fairly cheap swap. Judge has a stock carb set up with minimal cylinder work that will run low 60s. Plus, the stock non cv carbs are very good on fuel.

However, amost every 1100 I see has the parts I mentioned on it.
I laugh every time someone says an 1100 CAN'T jump.

With all that power it will launch, but that doesn't mean you should do it. If you do, like people have said you will have motor mount issues and break exhaust parts.
Yup! You can jump a Mack Truck too......................
But is that really the point DJ is looking to hear?
Actually yes! Have known and have been riding with DJ for well over 15 years.I think he's looking to hear and get info on doing an 1100 swap. I believe my posts on this thread added info to that discussion, did yours?
