Hey,

Pulling up an old thread here, but I am after a little help / advice.

I have started this conversion on a busted FX1 I have had in my garage for a year or two with no engine and lots of bits pinched off it.. Anyway, I have got to a point where I know I need something else in the way of a ride plate. I have ground almost as much as I can off my existing RIVA Groovy and even some off the pump, and am still quite a few mm off getting it down to the mounts. Too far to shim.

I went the way of the cutting into the hull, for three reasons - I am in New Zealand so sending something to Bob and back would cost me the price of an FX1, the pump I had laying round in the garage has a plastic rear end so isn't really weldable and finally I am more comfortable with getting it to all line up by glassing rather than with welding!

SO... which Rideplates have the best clearance and handle well?

Bob... I'm guessing you have seen a few of these so I am after your expertise.

Cheers,

Steve

i have a protec plate here
i also have an alloy nozzle for that pump
May have some other stuff for an fx1 if your interested as well

You think the Pro-tec plate will fit easier?

I think I am pretty sorted for crap in m garage at the moment, as long as I can get that engine sussed ...

No disadvantage in a plastic nozzle is there? I think Tofa has a couple of spares..
