Custom/Hybrid 155 pump?

Been done a few times, Waterdawg used to make all the parts for it. Many have said it is to much pump for most engines but there are some monsters being built on what some would consider a small budget that could possibly utilize it. The price and availability of mag pumps has dropped as well and there is probably not a huge price difference in the entire project unless you have the means of building the conversion parts yourself.

I've previously own a set of sea Doo gsx's with twin cylinder 951 PV motors. That ran a 155mm pump from the factory. I should be placing an order for a php 898 motor shortly. I know the sea Doo drive train hooked up pretty good. And I figured the php 898pv should make as much or more power than the 951. My hull is a carbon Wdk rev. I was told that the pump tunnel was large enough for 160mm pumps. And if I shares the same bolt pattern as the 144 pump that fits in the raiders. I should only have to have a pump shaft shortened or made. I believe jet maniac it doing this. Any insight is still very much appreciated thanks

Awesome to hear that your looking at one of our motors! I just bought a 155 pump out of a 97 wave venture and will be using that in my newest Bob build:) as soon as I get my hull and get it setup I will be posting the full build thread. You can call the shop and I can give you more info after we have done it. The 898 rips the 155 pump that Zack has in his Circus

The PHP motor will easily pull a 155 pump, bolt pattern is different 144 vs 155 , P tunnel must be sized to pump this is critical for max performance, if you can open tunnel for a blaster 2 pump shoe it would be good .

Ive allso just bought a complete 1200 driveline/pump assy to try and fit! :)

I figured since it was coming out of a raider it would probably have the same bolt pattern and spacing as the 144 pump

The 155mm oem pumps are longer. You will need to do some modding to boltup in hull not designed for it.

Remember the big performance comes from 155mm skat mag pumps (like zach is running), not oem 6 vane 155mm pumps.

I bolted my oem 155 right into my superjet and gained plenty of performance with 6 vanes and my tbm.

My 155 was out of a Yamaha jetboat. I used the wear ring, and stator section, superjet shaft and rear bearing. Skat adjustable reduction nozzle, gp1100 tr ring with rubber blowback seal, and the fx140 turn nozzle. Most 144 trim setups will not work. The turn nozzle will be way to small for the 155 pump and will have blow back causing drag and ill handling.

I was pretty sure this is correct, it bolts straight into a BLASTER 1 which is the same as the Superjet, I just measured both to be sure 6 7/8" in between the holes side to side, 7 5/8" from front holes to back on both pumps, both pumps right at 12" from front of wear ring to back of reduction nozzle, direct bolt in if you swap out the shafts and bearing.

What steps are involved in making the pump tunnel correct for the 155 pump? How much do you have to open up of what?

Are there any pump tunnels like the SJ pump that can be glassed in or are they all like the GP1200 with the monster heavy pump tunnel liner?

It is tight in a superjet or blaster but it will fit. There is some modifications of the parts required but it can be done. I bored out the pump tunnel inlet to 155mm to match the pump shoe. I also bored out the pump shoe to match the pump.

i only seenn big heavy pump tunnels. So I reworked the superjet one. The 155 I used had another front plate bolted to the front of wear ring, that bolted to the jet boat hull. I remove the plate, turned the 4 bolts around and counter sunk the heads into the front face of the wear ring. I used a wb2 pump seal but it was too small to go around the ring. I cut it and patched a small piece in from another seal and put the joints down at the bottom closest to the water. It's a hack mod but it stayed sealed all season.

I am pretty sure too. Lol. There are many different 155 pumps though and I only know about this one from a jetboat.

the one I measured came from a Waverunner XL 1200, it the GP1200, Waveventure 1100, Waveraider 1100, Waverunner XL 760 all use the same pump, the Blaster ll pump is the same also except for the wear ring of course.

What about centre of driveshaft to top of wear ring mounting surface? Mine was the same as the 144 and it still cleared my hull and ride plate still fit. Just.
