Got it mocked up for the most part and lit looks like I’ll be able to run a 3 gallon tank with hood vents after all

Prepping for hull inserts. Acetone removed the paint in the hull fairly easily. Looks like they laid carbon strips over the core material in the bottom. Found out my bulk head is also carbon

It hurt my feelings to sand on the hood but it had to be done. About ready to epoxy on the carbon hood scoop.

Though I would add a little distraction from what is really there. Saw this on a blowsion ski one time and I thought it looked way better than just seeing tubes come up through the hood.

My home made pinch bolt tool makes installing them a dream. It’s the second time I’ve used it

Got all of my inserts from @Nate_D at SkiWorks Composites epoxied in. I need to lightly hit them with a dremmel this afternoon just to clean them up some.

My Dasa shows to be arriving Wednesday. Not a whole lot left to do. I need to permanently mount the rear tank but I don’t want to do that till after I have the motor in and know where all the shims need to go. I also need to epoxy on the iBox mouth and figure out what I’m going to do with the battery. I’m headed to @Yami-Rider ‘s House this weekend and we’re going to make a backing plate so I can mount the cold fusion filler on a 3 gallon Jaz tank

I think I got my ebox mount where I want it. I hope it’s straight. Only thing left to figure out is battery placement. Under the pipe is the only place I think I can fit it.

My Dasa arrived on the 5th of last month and apparently UPS dropped it damaging the intake manifold, speed plate, and shearing off a m8 bolt.

I immediately filed a claim and have been fighting with them ever since. I have called over 15 times. They were supposed to send someone out to inspect the damage the next day so I took off work so I could meet them and they never showed. They have never inspect the package. Here is it almost a month and a half later a I’m still fighting. I called 2 days ago and they said I talked to them a few hours prior and did a over the phone inspect (which I did not do) and the claim was denied due to insufficient packaging.

I haven’t touched the Rickter since until today. Cleaned up all the excess epoxy around the inserts and mounts and repainted the inside.

So I did a little bit of riding after I got the new carbs on. Pitched the prop up some and had tuning issues. Every time I loaded the pump and gave it full throttle it would bog. It took a couple rides to figure out it wanted way more fuel. Ended up going from a 145 main to a 160 and I think it still wants more. Pump seems a little tight off the bottom bit it was getting there.

Last weekend my right foot hold broke loose and tray cracked on the helium. I found out that the only place they reinforced my hull was from the tank back on the bottom. They send me a new foot hold , Carbon, and turf to repair it but I’m not going to keep the ski after it’s fixed and XScream is 22 weeks out on hulls right now. So due to some unfortunate events I think I’ll be putting the 1200 in the xfr. I don’t know what I’m going to do about replacing the helium yet

Wow, so Xscream didnt wanna warranty the hull, after that? :/ sounds a bit disappointing. What was their comment to your situation if you dont mind me asking?

Just to be clear I’m not here to talk $hit or drag anyone through the mud (unless it’s UPS then they can suck a big black dićk). They are helping me with this.
Warranty the hull by just replacing it? No. They are covering all the materials to fix it. Said he takes that as a challenge to make them stand up to even the hardest riding and if I bought another one he would increase the layup at no additional expense to me. I might end up going that route but I’ll be out of a flatwater ski all season.

No i get that, im just wondering. Im really glad for the Xscream gear and my hull and think the XS guys are really great guys. Im thinking about a new hull maybe next season and really looking at the Helium. Im just wondering if they changed or missed something when building the hulls, after Stoyer and Chris left. To be honest, i actually thought XS would insist on repairing a hull like yours, if not replace it.
its a lot of hours to do yourself, and alot of hours, that you will not be riding your new beautiful hull. I really hope you get it sorted and back riding FW ASAP :)

Did your DVX ever have any issues? I'm surprised they didn't want it back to make it right. I hope you get it sorted out man!

@Jetfiend I never had any issues with my dvx, It was bulletproof. It was laid up heavy with a extra layer of carbon on everything and a Kevlar reinforced tray. That’s why I wanted the helium laid up the same way. Im no small guy either so that just adds even more stress on everything

Materials yes, labor no. But next time you order a hull it should be perfect the way you want it no questions asked. They kinda owe you one.

So jyzmbe should be out money to fix his 10k hull that only lasted 3 weeks? The footholds were incorrectly installed and the tray is only 40-60oz layup, that would have evenutaully broke under anyone flipping it, its not the first helium to have this issue.
Pretty awesome, have to order two to get the one you already ordered..

It doesn’t matter. Śhit happens. It’s going to get fixed and sold. I’m not going to keeping riding it and risk it breaking somewhere else.

I’m going to start over with a new hull laid up like I want it. I can’t justify spend that much money on something and not being bulletproof and it breaking. I guess my worst decision was selling my dvx. I tried to get it back but Tom won’t sell it back to me.

Yes it's sucks but that's typically the reality. I am sure they want it back to figure out what went wrong and fix it. You don't want to be without a ski forever. That's the trade off. I agree with you it sucks especially for a 10k hull. But you buy these light hulls knowing your eventually going to break them.

I respectfully disagree...you pay the extra money to have a hull that will NOT break, especially within the first few months of ordering/building.

I just received my new helium...fingers crossed that the foothold issue above does not come up. Like @Jyzmbe my first DVX was the most well built/bulletproof hull I’ve ever seen. Interesting to see xs skimp out on the little things like reinforcing the tray with carbon/Kevlar like in previous hulls
