-2007- Virginia Beach 2007!

Be awesome to see you guys from SFL up here. This event will really help the east coast free ride scene take off. Would be great to repeat it yearly and grow like the Daytona ride is doing.Give us all something to work towards.Makes me wonder where we will be in 3 to 5 yrs with free rides on the east coast.

that's the right idea... GROW GROW GROW!!!!!!!

Is there going to be a place for info on this ride in the freeride tour section? Just thought it would be a good idea to have an area to start threads for this particular ride.

I can't speak for the folks here on the X. (Who have have very helpful BTW), but we do have a WaveDaze forum at www.wavejunkies.com .

Feel free to ask anything.
Also, all suggestions are welcome.

Why did someone make this the week of world finals - I can't be in two places at once - am going to be sad to miss this event so close to home :(

Will there be lifeguards on the beach like thier was in Daytona - in case anyone got hurt?

We are at the mercy of the city for the dates. There is so much going on in the Fall that it was bound to conflict with something. Wish you could make it!

Yep we will have rescue/security/lifeguards on site. :crutches:

it's a beach.... it's 1mm-5,000ft deep, depending where you are in the ocean...

sorry, that question always makes me laugh....

Haha, it's typical east coast shallow. Everything depends on tides and sand bars so it's good we'll have at least five blocks of beach to play with.

No hotel lined up yet. :banghead: It's at the top of the list of things to do from what I understand.

MIKE I will have a AC pole for sale by then.

We are working on the hotel info this week, will have something for you guys to reserve soon.

while the ocean is the ocean and is subject to odd depths. I will say that Va has a much more reliable depth as you go out than FL. We cant go out 300 yrds and stab a sand bar like a lawn dart,if its a decent surf day and you are 75 yards off shore your NOT gonna hit bottom here:brap:

HA HA HA HA HA.......................

oh wait.... HA HA HA HA HA.......................

ok, I'm fine now.....

Did you map the ocean floor and/or have control over the currents in the ocean????

If not... You have no freaking idea where a sand bar is in Florida or VA... Last time I checked, Va is about 500 miles away from here and has the same same ocean floor as Daytona (sand). So why would it be any different?...

Quit lying to people to make them feel reassured about not hitting bottom.... If you ride hard and go big you will hit bottom, don't blame it on Florida, balme it on gravity or something....

Go pick up a book on waves and how the ocean floor effects a breaking wave... you will see that you are completely wrong

You will hit bottom in Va just like you will in Florida....

Quit hatin'. We all know Virginia water is less dense so the buoyancy naturally protects you from hitting bottom. You just gotta watch out for those extra dense spots that suck the right side of the ski down an extra inch. :mischievous:
