2008 super jet release date 8/20/07 12pm EST

I don't think Yamaha is thrilled with the Standup community size, everybody i talk too generally have to ride alone because people are afraid to get wet or are lazy. We are a limited breed!!!

yep

very much so. But as a general rule society doesn't want to learn new things they just want to be able to do them...so stand ups in that sense dont make sense. Too much time investment just being able to ride for most of them.

I used to be like your friends - always rode a mates ski - but then my now wife convinced me to buy a ski (al-be-it a runnabout) and then she got me to shell-out the money for a superjet that I kept talking about. Now she is pushing me to change from my 2000 Sj to an 08 Sj.

Yamaha shouldnt worry. Ive have been riding for atleast 3 months now and I have turned on atleast 4 people to the sport. Yet none of them have bought a ski yet.

I think that the biggest setbacks to the spread of standups are:

1)Many people do not live that close to water, and many lakes do not allow high horsepower engines (or gas engines at all....)
2)all PWCs are expensive...and expensive to maintain for the the average person...
3)It is much easier to convince the wife to buy a big azz ski that the whole family can use...
4)Standups are actual work to learn how to ride and do tricks... people are mostly lazy and don't want to do work.

I think you are doing the most that we can really do to get more people into standups.... just try to talk them into it....

Most people I try to talk into getting skis appear interested, but refuse to make the investment.... it's hard to convince people to spend that much money.

I wish some of my friends would get skis... so far I have 1 person I ride with.... myself.... damn :ugh2:
