Surfriding 2013 Rickter FR2 Evo 1 build

X-Mas came a couple days late for me but none the less it arrived! Going to start building it this weekend, super stoked! I have everything I need so build and pics to ensue...

Wow that thing is sick! Love the new graphics. My brother had the custom orange and blue Rickter for a while that Taylor owned. Super cool guy we met him in Daytona. He is the reason it was sold and a XFR ordered. Lol

you're going to love this- great surf ski.

Its being set up for surf and is an amazing ski. Handle pole, water box, all cables, pump shoe aligned and installed, midshaft aligned and installed, and moving water line fitting on pump tomorrow at work to accommodate steering line throw when using full trim. So far this build has been very smooth except for the water line on my pump, not a big deal but need to be moved.

Evo engine test fit.jpg

Moved water fitting on pump today at work and installed tonight. trim works well and has plenty of throw. Test fit the engine and working on alignment. Also E-Box is going to be mounted in a pretty trick location. Should have bracket for ebox done tomorrow. Pics to follow....

cutting a bracket for e-box to attach to motor

Drilled holes to fit my adapter plate from my e-box

Bracket almost complete, test fit tonight then paint it and mount it. The two prongs sticking out are going to mount on the girdle head bolts and the 3 holes on the uphill piece are for the cold fusion bracket to attach to. If it doesn't make sense the pic tonight will :)

IMO i wouldn't attached electrical components to motor since it gets pretty violent, but who know, may be fine.

I am kinda thinking the same thing but we shall see. Kurt already had his rip off the side of his evo as Im sure you saw, so who knows, but my box really won't fit anywhere else. I am running the rear tank and I cannot get it to fit anywhere else in the ski-my carb just won't allow it behind it and next to it doesn't work. So I am going to put this on, and then use a battery strap to secure it as well. Im shooting in the dark here...

Westcoast used to mount their [total loss] electrics in a custom box above the flywheel cover. BlunderJet/PJS did something similar, but was rubber mounted to the top of the flywheel cover.

Anyhoo... rubber mount if possible and loctite the sh*t out of any hardware and you should be fine.

Why not run the stock tank? It seems that the rear tank is nice but to compromise the mounting of your electronics seems strange to me. It is not like the extra gas is going to help when your electronics are jacked up. I would understand if you were running a pfp but it looks like your sticking with a bpipe. Not putting your build down I just put a lot of thought into these things when building my ski. We could be on different pages but my goal when building mine was the most reliable surf ski possible since the ocean is unforgiving. I removed the epic for a enhancer just cause it might be a problem even though I never had one issue. Any way you slice it you have a great ski congrats.

Agreed, and definately have been putting thought into this, I think its gonna work out just fine and be kinda trick, post pics up tonight when finished...

And why a rear tank you ask... okay so this ski is being built as my surf ski(60%) but also a rec ski(40%). And actually I am running dual tanks, a cold fusion tank in the front and thr rrp rear tank. That being said, I do like the versitility of being able to fill up for a nice surf session or long river ride but also when river or flat water riding, no fuel in the cf tank and only gas in the rear rrp tank. For now its just having options :)

I will be pulling gas to the motor from the rear tank and the rear tank will be fed from the cf tank.

imo i would look into a way to use rubber straps to hold your ebox. see if you can modify your bracket so you can use battery straps or something similar to hold the box. kurts is fine now that its not hard mounted. i got the strap idea from art because thats how he runs it on his x2

camojoe........everytime I read your screen name I somehow think it is cameltoe.
haha, yea, at the races like 4 years ago the announcer accidently said cameltoe and now I can never let it down. And actually it was Lisalisa who coined it for me at Salt Springs Valley Reservoir, Classic!

Thought of that today and I am going to also use battery straps around my e-box to hold it on as well. I think it will work out fine, and if it doesn't down the road, ditch rear tank and mount it back in stock location
