Hello everyone! Important news!

We have received a response from the CB town coordinator to our event proposal and it comes with a bit of good news and a bit of bad. Our original proposed oceanfront riding area request has been denied due to a specific town ordinance. This ordinance cannot be waived for a specific event it can only be changed entirely.

We may apply for an ordinance change request which costs a large amount of money but I have been informed that we would be basically giving our money away to the town as it is nonrefundable. The town coordinator informed me that the chances are virtually slim to none that the town/freeman family would approve a request to allow the ordinance to be changed so that all personal watercraft would be allowed to ride oceanfront, it cannot be requested for a specific event, only requested overall for the general public, anytime of the year. This is privately owned land by the Freeman family and only managed by the town of Carolina beach.

Now onto the good news! The carolina beach events coordinator has confirmed with the Carolina Beach police department that we are able to camp and launch our skis directly on the point of Freeman Park. Meaning we can camp all along the point and all jet skis must be launched to the north facing the inlet side. This is the closest to oceanfront we've ever had official approval for from the police department and they actually preferred this area to our soundside camping area from this past year due to more swimmers being in that area. Please see the attached photo for clarification of the camping and riding areas!!!

If anyone has questions please feel free to contact me!

How much goes on on Thursday? Does any one show up and ride? Because I have to be in a stupid wedding that weekend I can't stay for the whole event but thought I would ride down Wednesday night and ride all day Thursday and a little Friday morning before I had to drive home for the rehearsal. Stupid brother n law.

Hello everyone!

I have an updated satellite image with clearer markings for the new camping area for spring 2014! I hope this plainly explains for everyone newcomers and old where riding should occur in the inlet where the best waves/breakers are! The camping area has been moved from last years site to a new area directly on the point of Freeman Park! I want to keep the camping as consolidated as possible on the point to prevent non-freeriders from mixing in with the freeriders camping spots and as necessary as more space is needed extend towards the west from the point. The benefits of this new site are shorter towing for skis under distress, shorter riding distance to the surf, and closer visuals to catch the action!

We have less than 2 months to go and I hope everyone is as excited as I am for the coming freeride and warmer weather this May!

Went out to Freeman Park today at dead high tide 3 days before a full moon. The tide was nowhere near flooding the point and there was tons of room for everyone to camp!

Looking back through the charts the last new moon on march 1st it rose to +4.75 feet which looks to be the old tideline I was looking at today where the old straw and grass was shown in one of my photos. 4.75 looks to be the highest I can see in recent months as far as hightides go.

To simplify a new moon will occur on 4/29 2 days previous to the ride and everyone should camp where that high tide line appears when they arrive.

Do y'all think that the wind would hold down enough to get some footage with my quadcopter I really wanted some areal video but I hate to think how the wind could put me in the water in a hurry. I'm sure I can get some over the beach but I wanted some of that sweet wave action.

I'm planning on having a DJI Phantom before May and plan to have it out there. With the footage above the water that a couple guys got at Daytona with the wind that was there I'm fairly confident that on a 10kt wind or less day you'll be ok. It's definitely going to be the best way to get sweet surf footage!

Sweet I looked at the phantom but my pockets Wernt quite deep enough. Be sure to get plenty of flight time before the freeride. You probably know but it's not something you can just go buy and fly I would hate to see it in Davie jones locker.

It's a cheap ar Drone. It's really more of a high end toy. Then a good hobby grade quad. It pairs and flys from my iPad. It doesn't have great range and can't handle much wind but on a calm day it takes really good video no sound. It has a built in camera. And I can watch where I fly from the iPad screen.

Heres a little pic of the freeride , You can always hear this gang long before they round the bend ! just a little preride Pump-u-up
