On the last link you can fast forward to the camping part and our debate.

We failed to convince the council so they voted in favor of the regulations. Spring event will have to be held on Masonboro Island as previously discussed I will have finer details soon on that. The fall event can continue to be held on Freeman Park as the new camping regulations only run from April 1st to Setpember 31st. So the fall event will most likely be scheduled for the first weekend of October when the air and water temp is still very warm.

Thanks.

So I still could have bought a season pass and saved some money on the fall ride...?
It was a good effort Scott; thanks. I'd say I hope the city feels a difference in income, but I doubt they will...

So let's say we were to go to the spring ride, and camp at freeman park. Do you know if we can still leave our ezups and stuff at the beach, or does everything have to move to the "camp sites" at night?

Pretty sad when the council gets public pushback and moves forward anyways. Can you get them voted out at the next election cycle?

According to the new regulations everything has to be removed from the water at night by 11PM and moved to your campsite.

Is there going to be power on the island, or bring a generator? I have a ultra quiet Honda. Nothing like tenting it right next to someone elses howling briggs with a 200 ft extension cord they drag far away from their site.......

Not to seem like I want to be a trouble maker, but what are the repercussions if we just decide to leave tents up and camp on the shore line?

I've woken up there passed out in the sand at 7:30 am with a cop yelling at us to pick up all the beer cans and get off his beach. Pretty much just told us to clean up, pack up, and leave.

So we are allowed to setup as 100% the same way it has always been just not after 11pm?

Why not just load up all gear in a truck and drive it 30 yards across the soft sand (or however far away a campsite is) and unload it at the waterfront and move it back at sunset when we all have to be off the water anyways. You can leave an empty tent at the “campsite” have all your tools/fuel/ez-ups/everything and not be limited by what can fit on a boat. Yeah its more hassle than previous years but is it more hassle than waiting on a boat to show up and ferry to a remote island? As long as we all have a campsite to go home to, can we still have everyone partying in one area?

Im dtf to camp.... Being stuck on a island waiting to carry gear all day does not sound fun. poop I forgot my phone, poop I forgot poop tickets, bam.... there I am waiting for a boat all day. Needless to say the ole lady will not want to be stuck on the island.
