2016 sj setup for big guy

I have found the thing that made the ski most stable was shortening the pole. Im 5'10, went -1 (steering), then -4 (pole), then about -6 (steering again). I can almost stand on my ski at idle now (200lbs). I used to wonder how the flatwater guys had so much talent to keep a ski upriht going slow, but now i see that those super short poles play a major part in that.

At about -6, its still great for boat chasing and bouys. I think it may actually be easier on my back too. I thought it would be harder but i think it takes less core to keep the nose down. Combined with a 4" pole pad, its a pretty easy ride (should probably have a shorter pad but for now its uncomfortable to lean that far.)

Do not shorten up the pole as suggested. Do not do the OTP. A comfortable set of standard bars is what you should go for. Blows ion 4* is a good start

so, its been been 3 or so months and i have swapped the intake, ride plate and did a blowsion steering kit that keeps the pole, you drill the top (i think it the otp kit) it works great, straight bars. and thats it, it didn't take long for the feel to come back after 20 years but i wonder if adding the tubbies will help bring the ski back up after hard turning, and give it more stability? I would like to hear from someone who added a set to a new 08+. I want to understand how the change would feel. the change it makes. thanks guys

What would you recommend, manufacturer, front and back? Where to place them, i have never put on a set and never road a ski with them, so not sure really what matters most.

The pro watercraft sponson is great on any ski. Faster cornering for sure. They have a video on how to install the sponson. Most riders install them pretty far FWD and with a slight step off the bottom Hull. Just watch where you are drilling for the screws and don't let the screws damage anything, cut them flush if needed

Stability wise, if you haven't already new turf or jettrim and under padding in the tray, kick wedge if you prefer. Stock mats are garbage.
