why would you pick a no-name rider that didn't compete last year to run this thing in the Lb2Cat race? why not pick someone like mac, motzouris, billy womack, mike follmer, or any other top rider to run it. secondly what size fuel cell are you planning onc arrying to make it to avalon with out refueling at that much hp and speed? Lemme guess, your gonna tell me it's runs on brown's gas and can make it out and back 4 or 5 times on a tank before refueling.

and lastly unless the conditions are glass will you be able to keep that thing cranked WFO the entire time and even if it is glass that hull would need to be atleast a foot and a half to 2 feet longer in order to be able to accomadate that speed.

This is his fantasy, why do you have to try to throw in bits of reality to ruin it? Everyone knows that an X-2 is the perfect endurance ski I mean, look at all the current touring skis. They're all just like the X-2......not

i guess i am just bitter..... either my s/c bearing or belt tensioner decided it didn't wanna play for the same team as the rest of the motor this weekend and staged a walk out..... hopefully its fixed for this weekends racein rochester

I have the answer to the fuel question- I have been furiously calculating and at Mach 1 he won't need very much fuel to make the round trip, so long as he doesn't overshoot and end up in Hawaii.

It takes peopel months for a normal buildup. Never mind machining your own engine, designing your own hull etc etc. Give the guy time.

i cant believe i read this thread lol. only thing i need to say is, i'm giving this guy a chance. Anytime someone comes out with an innovative idea thats different from normal, people get laughed at. Everyone says, thats been tried before, or thats impossible. Well if that were true, then tell me where evolution comes from. When cavemen were building fires with sticks they would have gotten laughed at if they had the idea of matches. If someone told Thomas Edison about nuclear power he woulda laughed at that.

Im not sticking up for this guy in any way, but you never know, he might have something in the works. I agree an x-2 hull is in no way capable of speeds that he claims, but there may actually be some good innovative truths behind this whole thing. Only time will tell, personally I hope he does prove everyone wrong.
