you need to rework the bulkhead for a cut-down 550sx shaft, and install a 750 pump. you will burn the engine with that 300/440 pump. and if you prop it enough to keep the engine loaded, it won't have any low end hit to it.

Yeah I agree I don't see the advantage of the RN pole,those break , a lot.I shortened mine up the same as yours SPEEDFREAK it was super simple,if I wanted to go more forward I would section the front piece and move the whole thing,the stock pole is way lighter than a stock RN pole also just remove the smc cover and run thin aluminum sheeting on the top of the pole like I did to mine.The 440 pump is pretty well maxed out with the 550 reed engine ,anything bigger and you need a bigger pump.Regardless of the impeller pitch it will cavitate like hell till it gets on plane with a big engine in front of it.

we had a 550 engine in a 440 hull w/ a 440 pump, that was so hopped up it wouldn't run any type of intake grate, not even a pro "chip" without serious slip. it would just scream without one, and scare the hell out of ya..lol
 
are the 300 hulls similar to the 440/550 hulls?

Totally diff. set up. The 300 hull also has a wider tray, 2 inches wider than the 440/550 and 1 inch wider than the 650's. The pump set up is gonna be a custom deal. We're working on a new driveshaft set up. This hull is gonna be a great hull for the surf because it is already short and that motor is gonna be a beast! :Banane36:

I have had to put off putting a big engine in my 300SX ski untill I can get my son up to speed on his ski,once I get him up to speed he gets the 550 engine and I activate the brap device BIG TIME !

IIRC, the 300SX is about 6" shorter than a 550/440/300B hull or FX-1, and about 10" shorter than a SuperJet. Yet the width is 1/2 way between the smaller ones and the SJ.

It's short and wide proportions make it kinda like a Jet Ski version of the AMC Pacer...
