38mm SBN questions (NOT OEM's)

Bump for an old thread. MTRHEAD, would you consider these to be an upgrade over the oem yamaha 38s? My carbs are pooched and considering going with a pair of these 38s with a coupler between. I see high speed ind makes a speed plate for them. They sell a whole setup but i can replicate much cheaper.

Whats the verdict on these?

Kev, JM has the racing 38 carbs and speedplate here if you go that route.

Yes an upgrade IMO. I will be selling mine with a ported epoxy filled manifold and with custom turned airhorns and filters.
I will post here in a few days with pictures...

This is an awesome thread. And for my current purposes, the discussion of dual aftermarket SBN 38's on 550sx (with a @waxhead aftermarket dual intake manifold) is particularly helpful.
