Looks like I better patent custom aftermarket oil change kits.

Full covergae insurance on my skis is looking better and better! Just think of the scenario: "I just tossed a rod on my 10k + motor" Mr. Insurance man, I need some money cause my pole ski died yesterday in the ocean....

Why they don't run a drain hose setup like they do on the Ski Nautiques and Mastercrafts is beyond me.its just a hose with a swivel, attached to the drain hole in the oil pan,you run it out the dran plug, uncap the end and drain the oil.The oem's don't do this because they don't want you changing your own oil.

that was (maybe not anymore) a factory option on the earlier nautiques....

My parents have a 1983 Ski Nautique 2001......When they first got it I thought the oil drain line was the coolest thing ever

They still had them back in 98 when I worked at the Ski Nautique dealership, after that I honestly don't know.

lets get this right
4strokes dont have more torque
they just make the engine bigger to give it a torque advantage over the smaller two stroke

Yes if you tio a 4 stroke upside down then oil will go every where and sit u in the rocker gear or in the hollow of the pistons
sure you can try and put some fancy valaving in there to try and stop it but you cant overcome gravity

you can use forced induction on a four joke to giveit more hp but can you say thermal shock when the water hits the hot turbo housing

and do you want the turbo lag in the surf
i have seen some one try and race a hydro in 1 meter surf , it was not pretty

If some one convinces you that a four stroke is good in the surf then i have some land i wish to sell you , going cheap as well

Why worry about oil going all over the place if the ski flips over ?
By the time you swim to the ski that heavy a$$ 4 joke will have pulled it down to Davey Jones's locker.

I forgot!
it's a weed eater motor but it can spin upside down and run without loosing oil. the design is what i was trying to point out, not the displacement of it...lol

The airplane engines run upside down with no problems. :Banane19:

no chit sherlock, but this motor doesn't have an oil resevoir that would need to be changed after a swamping. it just a cool new design 4 stroke motor, gotta get stihl to build us a nice 4-mix inline 600cc+ motor.

Premix only means that there is no real dedicated lubrication system in that motor. You will have to rebuild it as often as a 2-stroke. Or even more often because of the greater quantity of moving parts in need of real 100% oil lubrication.
Honestly, I don't see anything cool about that engine.
