4 stroke vs 2 stroke KTM

2 strokes are a lot of fun and extremely powerful. Wasn't arguing that. As far as facts straight I was referring to Sir Kenny the team owner campaigning his v3 in GP racing with his son riding it. The V-Twin is a viable platform that should not be overlooked is all I was suggesting. Power delivery similar to a 2 stroke with its quick revving power train. I just made a suggestion to the OP. I'll wait till I have more experience and have owned more bikes. Obviously my 36 years of riding doesn't allow a suggestion. As far as bearing failure it was a bad batch of case sealant from a supplier. Piston replacement interval is 4 times that of a Honda and double that of a KTM. A lot of good bikes out there

Without reading through the whole thread, I have owned several KTM's. I grew up racing MX and did pretty well in the B class.
In my opinion, If you are rec riding 2strokes are hands down more fun to ride, cheaper, and easier to wrench on! if you are racing competitively get a 4stroke. You wont be sorry buying a KTM, the quality is top notch!

From my experience ktm300 2 strokes are great bikes and some of the older ktm 450f's are bullet proof. 525's are nice too. I like 4 stroke power and ease of riding (can ride slower easier) but maintenance on most 450f motocross bikes can be cumbersome and your always gonna worry about those valves. Just my opinion. Currently have a Gas Gas 300xc so im kinda the out cast haha.

I've ridden a 350 sx-f for the past two years, and I can say I honestly love the bike. Previous to that I have ridden Kawasaki's....85, 125, 250T, 350f and a few 450's. My friend has a 300 ex-c and a 2012 250 sx with a 300 cylinder, both are awesome awesome, but the two stroke really is no longer a factor. I was die hard two stroke rider back when the shift went from 2 to 4, it is so much easier to go fast on a 4t

A 350 is an amazing woods bike, first gear is low enough....plus it is light, fast, nimble and electric start. I have ridden open A in both moto and woods and have done very well, even on a stock motor iwith just suspension mods. Ride some bikes before you go out and buy them. The new KTM's are great, and they do not feel any different from a Jap bike until you tip over and have to kick over the Jap bike.

There was a mention of a YZ 250 being the best bike ever...I strongly disagree, they have a horrible ergonomics and just feel all wrong to me. The best feel yamaha to me is the backwards motor 450 they have out now...everything else just feel liks dog :):):):) haha. All the bikes are good...but i bet you will love the magic button and amazing power characteristics of a 350 KTM
