Honestly I don't see any glaring flaws on that last one you posted, it seems to have the right engine and setup and whoever owns it has some attention to detail looking at the fuel line setup and such.

Thanks, I will try and get in touch with them and arrange a water test. I have had such poor luck at getting anyone selling a ski to get back to me. So annoying.

Ok, I think I might have finally found a machine, not very close to me but still in Canada. It is a SJ 2007, so right year to look for for freestyle hull.
Looks to be in good shape, I could water test it.
Any glaring problems you guys see on the engine pics. attached. Again your help and expertise is much appreciated as this will be about a 16 hour drive round trip for me.

If it is not much more expensive to get the last one you posted I get it.
What do you guys think of this one? should I be concerned about no rev limiter?
Fully built engine, ported, dual 46’s, bpipe, lowered hood, x scream adjustable pole, carbon chin pad, Jss coil, cdi no rev limiter, billet tritton head, internal fill lots more…..

I like this one. that exhaust pipe is currently worth around 1k right now and hard to come by.

Perfect, thanks for the expert advice. I am arranging a time to go and test it. I will post any questions that come up if I can't get answers to them myself. Cheers. David

@Sparkplug,
Hello, I just realized Quinc was replying to a previous ski which I can't get a hold of the owner. Can you take a look at the '07 I found and let me know if you see anything I should be concerned with?

The guy wants 9K for this ski, do you think it's worth it, seems steep compared with other ones' I have been looking at. Thoughts?

Is that for the blue 07? From the engine bay pictures it looks fairly unmolested for a 15 year old jetski. Maybe a little rust like it had seen a bit of salt water. 9k seems like a lot to me. Are there pictures of the rest of the ski?

As far as I can see nothing. It looks pristine and clean. My vote is for that boat.
Nothing is wrong with that ski as you said. For me it is in the US so I need to add 30% for currency exchange and another 5%-9% for duties then another 13% tax. It quickly becomes expensive.

also i think I inadvertently got the machines I was looking for feedback on confused.
this one is 4k. The second photo is 9k. Should I be concerned on the rusted bolts or are those easily replaced or are they tell tales of more rust somewhere else?

The rusted bolts aren't really a problem, it just shows some age and that the ski probably wasn't maintained as well as possible.

If you guys are interested, I did find an FX-1 available in Canada but will not be pursuing it. Given they are rare, I thought I would share it with the gang.

Buying from the US is much easier than you would think. Make a trip out of it and stay for 48 hours and you won't have to pay duties on $800 of the value. You don't pay any tax after paying duties. There's no special import/export forms for watercraft if they don't have a trailer. It's a very simple process that can save you a lot of money if the cost vs exchange rate work out. Ask the seller to make a receipt for a lower price and you'll be even better off. A ski that has a receipt for $3k should be $5900 CAD all-in with today's exchange rate. Expand your search down south.

Here's the duty calculator. Select sports, then jetski. Subtract $800 from the total value if you're going to be down there for a couple days, $200 if you're 24-48 hours. Whatever price the seller writes on the receipt is what you'll be paying. I like adding in as-is, to explain the low price. You can call the border beforehand to be 100% sure on what you'll pay.

What part of Ontario are you in and how far are you willing to go? There are often good skis in Quebec too. The SO*ON Freeride group on facebook has a lot of good stuff from people who know the sport.

I am in Northern Ontario. It takes me 4 hours to get to Toronto. The Ski I found is in Quebec, in fact most of them to your point. I wonder why.
Travelling for any length of time right now is difficult with work, kids etc. Which is why I looking to see if I can make whatever trip I do take a 1 day event. Appreciate the info on the US though. Something to consider for sure. Thanks

Try that first ski you posted again. That looked like the best one to me. I recommend getting one with an aftermarket exhaust, like half the ones you have posted. Big power increase and it's an expensive mod, so good to have it already done.

The Montreal/Tremblant area seem to have a lot of people who are into powersports and extreme sports. It's the perfect place for it. I guess sledders need a summer brap.

Is this the one you are talking about? Only trouble is the guy is stuck at 9K which seems quite high. What are your thoughts on the price?
here is the details on the ski:
2000 Yamaha Superjet 701 Fully built engine, ported, dual 46’s, bpipe, lowered hood, x scream adjustable pole, carbon chin pad, Jss coil, cdi no rev limiter, billet tritton head, internal fill

I meant post #10. The blue one with the red Jetmaniac head. It looks really well kept by someone who knows what they were doing. Even the hose clamps are high-end.
