I have a superjet with a 701 that I put together. The motor was ported and the head was shaved and it has a pro tec pipe. When I first took it out it ran good for about 15 minutes and then it would not get full power. I tried lowering my pop off that did nothing. I switched carbs with my friends running ski and it did the same thing. I changed the coil and CDI and it didnt change anything. Then I pulled the flywheel and saw that the stator wires were rubbing the flywheel and 4 of them were almost worn completly through. So I changed the stator and it still did the same thing. So I took the intake off and checked the reeds and they look fine. It seems to run ok from idle to 1/4 throttle then it just bogs. It runs great out of the water and if I pull the back end up while riding the rpms will shoot up and if I keep hopping I can get it up to speed.

yea it has bigger jets in it but I switched carbs with my friend who has the stock jets from a 62t and it did the same thing

Do you still have the stock temp sensor in the head? If it feels almost like you are hitting a rev limiter at 1/4 throttle the sensor could be activating.
Im pretty sure its not plugged in at the ebox.

Mine was doing the same thing, I thought my temp sensor was unplugged, but it wasn't, I removed it and its running much better now

Sounds like a blown head gasket.
it has 140 even compression so it shouldnt be a head gasket right and would the waterbox baffle make it run bad like that?

Your needle and seat are too big...
but I switched carbs with a set there were all of the stock settings and it didnt change a thing
do you think that the wires rubbing through on the flywheel shorted something out and messed up the CDI and then when I switched CDI's it messed that one up too.
