701 steering break

I fully believe these systems are built tough and will not fail under freeride conditions.

@701dave .....so how do you believe JPs steering system broke? You think he was out riding around with a sledge hammer in his hand just bashing on the top of the steering stem? I mean, get real. I was out riding with JP when it broke. The conditions were similar to a real choppy lake. Luckily his Girlfriend was out there on the sitdown to offer us help if we needed it...and we did. Because that POS steering stem broke.

its was my opinion that under normal freeride abuse, this system along with every other system around the globe, could not have failed , and for the record, zero have. To me its been in some sort of roll over.
That makes a lot of sense because later that day I took it to the local motocross track and was blasting some berms and jumping some huge triples on my ski when I landed weird and had a roll over...I don't know how my bars, grips and throttle lever survived. Weird.

Im not going to get into any poop shows with @701dave because there was alot of witnesses to see what happened when the part/weld failed. You know about the pictures as you and your rep got them and saw them and im not the only one here that had issue with welds breaking. I know things break riding freeride as I have been doing it a long time but you cant keep saying your part can not break when it is. All anyone is asking is to man up, correct the issue so no one gets hurt and make right with people who are having quality issues. But to give you credit it is not every steering or weld breaking is just a few, it happens, I weld too and know poop happens very rarely but it happens but you fix it and keep moving forward. Dealt with a lot of companies and some good some bad its the industry.

Now to defend @964Chris he is the ONLY reason I kept my mouth shut on public forums and to friends because he was trying to do the right thing. He watched with his own eyes your welds fail and quite a few other people. And im not looking for a poop show and in no way dragging Chris into this but I still deal with Chris to this day and he always does the best he possibly can with what he can. And because of Chris after all my issues I still supported 701 Industries, helped try to promote the sale of your products both by word of mouth at events and here in black and white on the boards. I know he is no longer with you but I can say i never hear or see him bashing you or bringing what he saw being the US rep for you products to the forums or out in public.

All im saying in summary if so little of your products are failing and so many are out there.... why not send replacement parts or cover the cost of the repair and no one would be pissed off at you because every single person in this sports knows poop happens, parts fail, things get overlooked. A hand full of parts break with hundreds sold i think that is pretty good success in this industry to be honest but you still have to admit a few failures and do what you can to help not deny it right away and basically tell someone to piss off.

Dude that sounds like fun call me up I want to go with you next time to that MX Track where they let you ride a jet ski! LOL

I hope you can get this figured out and @701dave will take care of this for you! He has always taking care of me on purchasing parts for my B1 but if he doesn't take care of his customer and product then I would think twice about ever ordering from him again myself. Good luck Dude.

Wow that thing looks like a monster! How do you like it? Is it heavy? I have a 701 QS brand new have not had time to install it yet. I only have heard good things about 701 industries, Dave is a good guy and his products look good. I hope this was a fluke, I never heard of this before. I have to give mine a look over but from what I remember it looks G2G welds are big fat beads!

Hate to steal the thread but what Pro taper bars are you guys running? Kx High, Pastrana FMX, or the Windhams? Anyone running the Renthal fat bars? What are the straightest bars with not much sweep?
