Go over to pwctoday.com. The x2 following is alot bigger. There are only a couple gen 2 guys over here (3 i think)
Stop listening to the guy that wants to sell you something. When I was looking at street bikes, everyone I ever met said do not buy a 1000cc as my 1st bike, it's more power than a new rider could skillfully use. I walked into the dealer, and the 1st thing he said when I was looking at the R6 was, buy the R1, it's larger frame makes it more stable and safer for a new rider. I didn't buy from him, because I believe the many experienced riders who all say the same thing over the salesman.
When you know what you want, tell the man what you want. But don't go to a guy that wants to sell you something specific, and ask, "what should I buy?" I can almost guarentee that the answer will always be"The most expensive thing I sell."
baby steps. I can buy a 30k super stock tweeked out race boat, and I could ride it, but I couldn't use it to it's potential. If you can't hold a 800 open through the corner, you will be carried by a lot of 1100 power rather than a lot of 800 skill. I used to beat YFZ 450's on my Warrior 350 because I knew how to ride my 350. i help the throttle wide open almost all the time. The 450's beat me in the straights, but I made up twice that time in the corners. Spending 30k on a high performance 1st boat will result in a really expensive boat you struggle to learn how to ride. Start small, learn the skill, then go big.
Buy a 800 bullet then! I know he has a stock 800 demo boat. Fly out to havasu for world finals and hook up with him. Get on it and ride. If you love it, place a order while your there. You will be into it for 9 or 10 grand and can upgrade as you go on. Add a pipe, carbs, mag pump and it will be ripppping! If you decide you want more, sell that setup and drop a 1100 into it. Its a simple conversion.
Contact rusty and try this demo boat http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=372398&highlight=bullet+x2
Too bad you missed this deal by two weeks. http://www.pwctoday.com/showthread.php?t=379649&highlight=bullet+x2
Anyone remember this guy? http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/14230-212-HP-650cc-X2&highlight=212hp
What's funny is back in 2007, 212hp seemed ludicrous but we now have a 215hp RXP engine in a SXR out there.
