The Factory pipe was an excellent improvement in the bottom end... I think i need to either get the flow control valve or play with the jetting though. a little hesitant off the bottom i think its just the water building up in the box. but i will work on it next ride.

Also i am getting upside down on my rolls i just cant make it all the way around yet

John is this right? you can see my capped line on the waterbox exit. It hesitated and sounded like the waterbox was filling up then it would clear up and rip! it could be the jetting but last time i checked the plugs it was a good burn. Although the factory pipe might of changed the jetting a little bit. Let me know

That routing should work fine for you. I'd be willing to bet your jetting is off. I remember thinking your jetting with the coffmans pipe was low but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe bump up the low speed jet a little. I think plugs really only tell the story for the high jet...low jet is less scientific.

try a flow control valve on the line to the stinger
that will clean up your waterbox and should help out a lot!

Well my 750 has instant snap without a flow control valve plus a FCV can hide a carb problem so I would tune the carb before installing it. Otherwise, you're robbing yourself of power that you could've had.

The jetting in my 40mm carb with a FPP is 80 low and 155 high and it works awesome! Don't know about the 42mm carb though.

well it should be close to yours. I have tried to order 80 lows from atlantic and i have three of them that are 80 highs so i cant use them. I have a bunch of jets i can play with except 80 lows lol
The question is with my carb being bigger would my jets be smaller? if so then i should be really close.

Keep in mind that the only reason that I'm any good at tuning carbs is because I expect perfection from my ski's that I tinker with them long enough to make it work right. If you've got an 85, I would at least give it a shot before ordering more jets.

However, the logical explanation is more air from a bigger carb would require more fuel from a bigger jet to make the mixture correct. Of course if the internals of the carbs are different, that simplicity could be completely useless.

the carbs should be the same besides the bore. unless something is diffrent with the sudco i dont know. I can try going up ill try 82 and 155 (thats the biggest i have.)

Didn't know they made an 82... I would think it would work pretty well. If not, it may give you a good idea of what you do need.

I installed a restrictor in-line just prior to the FCV. I do have dual cooling so I needed to limit water to the waterbox. After your carb is tuned up then install the FCV and get that dialed in. At that point I would ride it a while and then try a restrictor in-line prior to the FCV see if it cleans up th botom end anymore. JMO

Best of luck

I completely agree. because of the way the FCV works it could very easily mask your tuning being a little out of order down low. especially since you arent used to the ski WITH the FCV and running right.
id get it running perfect and then put on the fcv. too many variables otherwise.
