SX/SXi/SXi Pro 750 sxi too fast!

Okay guys this is my first post on here and at risk of sounding like a complete :):):):):) I have a problem. My SXI 750 is too fast. Let me explain I started with a 93 440 it was fun but I was always looking for more power. So I found a 95 sxi 750 with all kinds of add on's pipe intake grate rideplate etc. I got it home put it in and it runs great but it is almost impossible to run less than 30mph I like to jump waves and try tricks this thing is set up for racing. Would anyone suggest removing the pipe for a stock one or changing out anything else?

30+mph??? That's not normal for ANY kawasaki. lol. I'm sure there's a few simple things that can be done to make it less awesome. Post your ski's engine mods and we'll give you some help.

I don't know what the engine has done to it but it had a factory pipe, intake grate, ride plate, aftermarket airfilters. Im going to check the compression tomorrow to see about that the guy I got it from said he bought it from someone who raced it he didn't know anything about it. He said he used reg gas. Some of my problem is the finger throttle Im used to thrumb. Im thinking for selling the pipe and getting a stock one everything I have read says that pipe adds 20+ HP

I assume it is a wet pipe? If so you can tune the head pipe to an extent to change how hard the power "hits".

1st thing is to get a riding buddy with a superjet. Then get yourself a long tow rope, he'll slow you down a little. Kidding aside, you can't have enough power, just to little experience. time in the tray will improve you. "Keep your pole up and your bottom down". jetski flip.gif

Or you could always trade me for my 650sx, I think it is just what you need, And I will sacrifice my time by taking the 750. Just looking out for you, want everyone to have fun:biggrin:

when I went from a 650 SN to my 701 RN, I thought the same thing. It was much more powerful than I thought it would have been, even in stock form. A little time in the tray and I was used to it and adding a pipe and prop. You also feel like you're going faster than you are. Learn a little throttle control and you'll be fine. It took a little while to get the right feel blipping the throttle (I was making the nose come up and then drop way too much at first). When you get it, you're good to go.

Man some of you guys are tearing him up. Always with the "Buy a SJ comment!" You can count on this in any of your threads as long as you own a kawi.
but the flat water back flip 0-30mph was funny!

Just ride it you will get use to it, but from what you've said it is set up for racing and more high speed. You can try some adjustments like mentioned above.. But i would just give it some more time!

It may be "Light Switch" powerband like wavedemon said above. I have a 95 SXI and it does the same think. I have been riding stand ups for a while, but have never felt anything like this. Heardly any power down low till about half throttle, then rips your arms off. I have tried tuning the carbs, but can not change the power band. It has a factory water injected pipe and i have closed the bottom and middle screw and opened the top screw 1/2 turn to give it as much low end as possible (factory pipe recommendation). All jetting is per factory pipe for the pipe that i have. Still, no low end power. Any other advice beside just learn how to ride it would be apprecieate.
