Thanks for all the complements! I can't wait to ride this thing. I'm hoping the footholds turn out well. I'm using a rn sj pole and a xmv bracket

anyone know when pwctoday scheduled to be back up and running?
I'm not sure, but I hope soon. I need to find get some parts that no one on here seems to have. If anyone has a 550 wear ring, I'm looking for one.

I just ordered some turf and under padding because there is a long wait for what I want. I'm planning on glassing monday because I'm off of school. I'm aiming to get it to the painter by the 21st. The painter should be able to get it done very quickly because he is a local guy that runs a small shop. I'm planning on taking this ski to the Fast Elements/Optima Racing Freeride the weekend of May 11, so I need to have it done by then and allow time for tweaking it and getting the ecwi set up.

I got one side of the engine bay reinforced along the bond line.

I just got done laying the first layer on the gunwhale. It was very difficult to say the least. It was also my first time glassing on a surface with major curves. The foam was a little different to glass on also. Its definitely not perfect, but the only way to learn and get better is to practice.

I laid down more layers last night on the tray. It went much better than the first one. It feels solid and laid down well everywhere. I need to get more cloth and flip the hull to start on the other side. Here's some pics from last night while it was still wet.

Well I got really busy and haven't gotten anything done lol. I've completely ditched the timeline and will finish whenever I have time. I ordered a bunch of 17 oz. biax cloth to do the nose and add a few layers to the tray from US composites. I've been riding instead of working with all this warm weather. I'm hoping to get the second tray side done this weekend. I have all the layers cut and ready to lay down, I just need to do it.

What Prop would you recommend

Hey I was reading your thread and it seems like you really know your stuff about these old stand ups. I'm somewhat new to riding them and I love it. I just got a 1988 JS440with a brand new SBT crate 650sx engine from a buddy of mine. Ithas bolt ons but no major motor work done. It has 0 degree turn handle bars, finger throttle, exhaust (Not sure what kind) , dual carburetor withK&N intake and a ride plate. It's definitely under proped and I was wondering what prop you would recommend for a ski like mine.

Thanks for your input, Kyle

Are you still using a 440 pump? Most people with conversion skis run a 550 pump. If you have a 440 pump I would get a 17 degree impeller. If you have a 550 pump I would get a 18 degree

Thanks for the info!! I'm not sure what pump it has I will have to see if he knows or try and figure it out on my own. There's no easy way of telling is there?

The 440 pumps have the impeller threaded onto the driveshaft. The 550 impellers are mounted to the pump with splines on the driveshaft that slide into the pump.

Its a 440 pump, I'm looking at the prop that's on it now and its a nice stainless prop however it doesn't say the brand or pitch on it. The only marking I was able to find just had # 630345. Any idea what this means? I tried goggling it but I couldn't find anything. Thanks for the continued advice.

Thanks, Klye

I'm not sure what those numbers mean. I've never seen anything like that on any of my impellers.

Guess I should update this...I have part of the second side of the tray glassed. I've been super busy with exams and I just got a car so I've been spending most of my time on it. I dropped the 650 into a spare hull tonight so I can at least dial in the motor and get the water injection set up right. I'm really excited to see how it does. I'll have a lot more time to finish this hull this summer. I really want to finish the fiberglass but just haven't had time...

Thanks. I tried goggling it but I couldn't find anything. Not much comes up for jetlyne impellers. I want to make sure its not something else before I order another impeller since it already has an after market one on it. I raced my buddies 650sx that only has a pipe and impeller and he beats me by a little. I should be beating him since mine's in a 440 hull and has more mods. I'm thinking about seeing what pitch his has and trying to get one close to it. Do you think that a 17 degree impeller would make a big difference from what I'm seeing now? Low end it doesn't have much power at all

Thanks, Kyle

the jetlyne impellers are not that good of impellers anyways.. you would be better off with a solas or skat impeller.. you should also look into boring the outlet nozzle.. i think you can have it bored to 68mm or so.. contact #zero on this site for that..or try to find an ocean pro or pjs nozzle. it will really wake up the bottom end thrust you are looking for and will probably help out on the top too...i would say a 17 pitch would be a good impeller for the 650 engine.. look for the nozzle before the impeller change and see what it does for you
