92 701 SN superjet, swapping to a built 95 hull. Mid shaft same size?

Hey guys,
I am new to the site and this is my first post. I have been riding stand ups for about 5-6 years and love to chase boats out at Miller park and the delta. I recently picked up a 92 SN superjet with a 08 rebuilt 701 already thrown in, besides that it is mostly stock.

Unfortunately I got dooped and found a bunch of cracks along the tray, and it seems like the rear ended is just soaking up water. Water will drip on the inside of the exhaust flange on to my garage floor months after I had the ski in the water, I believe she’s waterlogged, but fortunately I found a pretty bad ass 95 hull with a x-metal handle pole, Versiplug scupper, beefy handle pole bracket, carbon fiber blowsion hood, footholds, smoothed over nose, tubbies, and the entire ski is reinforced.
I have a few questions as I will be swapping my 701 from the 92 hull, basically should everything bolt up? I have read some threads saying my mid shaft could be a different size? If so, can someone point me in the right direction of getting the correct size? Also the new hull is set up for dual cooling but my pump is not, so I just cap that second line for now? Any gaskets I need to replace? Any help would be much appreciated!

The only thing that will not work is the mid-shaft housing. You can reuse your actual midshaft but the housing with the bearings will have to be replaced to the larger 1994+ one.

Thank you for the quick response. Do you have a recommendation on where I could get this 94+ midshaft housing? Also the hull I bought came with an adjustable x-metal handle pole. The guy I bought it from said he ran the pole with no chin pad, and also no pole spring, the pole is very tight on the bracket, it looks like It had a limiting strap on it. Do guys run these poles with no spring?
One more question, I believe the hull is setup for dual cooling which my pump is not, I will take photos soon but if I decide to not go the dual cooling for now I can just cap the second water line going to the pump yeah? Thanks for the help.

Yes you can cap the fitting and yes people do run the pole tight without a spring. Personal preference. @JetManiac can set you up with midshaft housing, built with new bearings and seals too. Would have anything else you could need for your swap too.

Alright cool, I have read a lot of talk on here that he’s the guy for parts. I also either need to block off the stock fill port on my tank because the nose of the new hull is glassed over fuel fill cap and/or get a new tank. Will my stock steering cable work with this pole and cold fusion steering setup? @JetManiac please pm me as I will get these parts from you, thank you.

New hull I recently purchased, 95 SN, reinforced all around, ski clinic footholds, Versiplug scupper, x-metal adjustable Handlepole, newish turf, dual cooling, rate carbon fiber SN hood with hood strap kit, front foot holds, custom nose job.
My plan for the ski is to swap everything out from my 92 as a donor ski, as I have a 4 hr 701 61x/61x just waiting to be dropped into this thing. Everything seems pretty straight forward, I still do not know what I am going to do about the fuel tank as the nose cover does not allow for fuel fill ups on the outside of the ski. I heard blowsion makes a kit? Cannot find it.

A few more questions....

-where should I start, again using a 92 donor ski with fresh 701, work 201 intake grate, ride plate. Should I start with the pump and work my way to the motor? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Yes, start with the pump, you'll need to align/shim the pump and driveshaft before installing the midshaft. Also, is you waterbox fiberglass or metal? The original SN would be fiberglass but very possible it was swapped to the aluminum RN box with the engine swap. Your better of with the aluminum one, the old fiberglass ones are meant for the 650 engines and will eventually blow out. But if you 701 is all stock it might be ok. However I'm not sure the fiberglass box will fit in the RN hull, it's huge in comparison.

There's lots of version of the internal fill gas caps out there. Most of them just replace the existing fuel pickups and cap the hole going to the external fill.

Thanks for the info, I am actually swapping from a 92 SN to a built freestyle/surf 95 SN boat, not round nose. The waterbox I believe is stock Fiberglass in the 92. I plan on adding a hooker 9/15, ada girdled head, bpipe, and possibly 46mm carb I have and my wallet.

Ditch that glass box asap. It is a literal ticking time bomb that when it explodes you have a nice big way for water to get in the hull and drag it all down, not to mention it wont run so you will be in the middle of the lake stuck when it happens. The lid likes to come off of them and separate at the seam with enough exhaust pressure, they also form stress cracks quite easily. A single backfire will likely take out the baffles as well and that is the best case scenario with one.

Jetmaniac makes a real nice one that I am falling in love with. Its really easy to install, stock fitment, all while being smaller and lighter than stock, and not loud. All you will have to do is tie a knot in each waterbox strap. I would advise gluing some hydroturf to the bottom of it as well as the hull to keep it nice and secure without rubbing.

Stock round nose boxes are also real nice but almost as expensive.

I really like that green ski. Is that just bungees holding the hood on? Jetmaniac also sells a ratchet strap setup that is far more secure.

Thanks yes that is the 95 hull that I picked up a few days ago. The hood is aftermarket and extremely light, looks as though it is atleast partly made of carbon fiber, it looks like the new carbon hoods for the round noses that blowsion makes. Those straps are holding the hood down, I have a ratchet strap setup on my donor ski but I have to admit I actually like the bungee setup the guy made. How do I get a hold of @JetManiac? I would like to get that waterbox, along with the larger midshaft bearings, and possibly see if he has some recommendations on where I can find a bpipe.
Couple things that this hull came with
-dual cooling
-tubbies
-fully biax reinforced all the way around ski
-x-metal pole
- scupper Versiplug max
Custom nose job
This thing is a tank compared to my 92, can’t wait to get everything swapped over!
