951 in my 750sx freestyle buildup

Update, motor is together, coupler lines up, front mount needs to be glassed in and pipe still needs welded. Im ordering the T4 this week and need to do some glass work and buy a pole. But its close, possibly hitting the water this summer.

with the added weight, and the subtracted weight from all the BS I got rid of we are talking about 20lbs. more than what I started with and more than double the horsepower. I could stand to lose 20 lbs myself, so I would break even. Honestly its going to be a rec rider, jump the occasional boat wake nothing crazy. I need to weigh this thing once Im done.

The exhaust is a little close up front. I think I may have to set the motor back a little bit.

I had a sxr with a 951

-2in hull
foot holds

it was a tank and is gone! it ran great handled great but when it left the water it just did what it wanted!!!! so heavy an when you land it would feel like your legs were going to break!

Im on to glass work. I got a plate for the front motor mount glassed in. waiting on glass to dry so I can drill and tap the mounting holes in the aluminum. I made a list of what needs to be done.... glass up the front where I eliminated the fuel door, glass the -2 chop, run fuel and cooling lines, buy a RN pole bracket buy a TDR powerspray waterbox for the 750sx with no baffles (Im running it backwards, and where the inlet would be will shoot forward to a front/side exhaust) I also need to buy a side exhaust cutout, and finally an ignition. Since I dont plan to race Im really leaning towards a factory SeaDoo MPEM and ebox. just to make it easy.

SO, if you have any of the above for sale please let me know. Id like to find a junk boat with a 951 so I can get the mpem, key, ebox and wiring.

would anyone care to discuss how unhappy I will be with the stock ignition? is the T4 really worth it in my case? Its just a lake drag racer, and rec rider. Im not competing or anything, Im doing this purely for the fun of making a ridiculosly fast 750sx.

dude i ran the t4 it was awesome......but im not sure if its worth that kinda money for a rec boat.....but it will clean up the egain bay,its alot smaller than the seadoo stuff...

also why did you cut the pipe?? the rossier fit great in my ski?? is the 750 hull thatmuch smaller?

also good luck with that motor in that hull at high speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just trying to justify spending the extra 300 bucks to go with the advent. If love to find one used... But as far as speed goes it's propped for nothing but bottom end power. I had to take 3/4" out of the pipe and adjust the angle just a bit. The sx is that much narrower.

a few more progress updates. I re foamed the side of the tray where the old exhaust went out. I pained most of the inside of the hull with "splatter paint" for the trunks of cars. a nice black textured look- so far so good. 2 days of fiberglass work ahead of me. I also changed out the base gasket on the motor to get my squish right and finally put the rings in. I still have so much to do...

I still need to find a fuel selector knob big enough to supply the motor. I have a 550 tank with a west coast pickup looks to be 1/4" id. I understand they are fuel hungry and dont want to cause a restriction. any ideas?

First time using a tig welder on aluminum tonight.... my exhaust is all done. and it fits! Try not to laugh at the beads. its no stack of dimes, more like a quarter then a dime and a handfull of nickels. not bad for a noob.
