Freestyle 96 rn winter build and nose job

Well i got some more foam removed, Located some realy wet stinky foam around the intake grate inserts and the tube for the steering cable, I got the oneway valve removed, the exhaust tube, and removed the cooling lines, I was suprised at how easy they were to get out. just one lil tap with a hammer. and they slid right out. Posting some pics of what i got done tonight. and the pile o foam, also a pic of the nice puddle of water in the bottom of the hull

Looks like you are getting a lot more done to the SJ. I finally got most of my stuff put away so I can start working on my sx build. I ca't wait to take out the stock foam and see how much wet foam I have in there.

Been waiting for my order from us composites, I still had the stock nose foam, The more i looked at it i thought, i might try and make my own nose kit, Not sure how itll come out or if itll b any different than stock but looks like it will.new nose 003.jpgnew nose 002.jpgnew nose 005.jpgnew nose 004.jpgnew nose 001.jpg

was going to start filling in the bondline in the tray area and start reinforceing, I picked up some dyna hair i was going to use in the bondline, but the stuff is too thick, guess ill just use bondo, or thickened epoxy. Not sure if im gonna use the 17 oz biax i got to reinforce with or use the 5 oz carbon twill i got.

I got a lil glassing done to oneside under the tray, Trying to figure out what to do about the ride plate inserts, thinking bout removeing the stock glue around theme , and building a lil form around theme and incase theme in some thickened epoxy then glass over theme, i know yamaha didnt screw around with there inserts, there bad to the bone.

i got another layer of 17oz biax on the other side, i decided this time to thicken some epoxy instead of useing bondo to fill the bondline area, The foam dust i saved when i defoamed seemed to work great. Im trying to decide what to do about my ride plate if i can use my stock one or get another. i guess i can chop my stock rideplate and reweld it.

thanks guys this thing outta b built proof, im gonna reinforce the whole area under the tray while i got it open with 1 layer of 17oz biax, and 1 layer of 5oz carbon fiber twill. ive got the factory glue removed around the inserts. im just gonna glass around them. then ill thicken some epoxy around theme and rap theme in cf. ive got everything out that i need, so now its time to kick some arse. Its a pain in the ass glassing in this cold arse weather were haveing. byeai i like the shape of the nose as well looking forward to seeing how it comes out
