SX/SXi/SXi Pro 98 sxi pro starts when one spark plug is out of motor

my sxi pro wont start unless one of the plugs are out. its fires right up but if i try to get it to run on both cylinders it will just turn over. Im a new to jet skis any help would be awesome:usa:

One cylinder is not firing for some reason (either fuel or spark). By pulling the plug and trying to start it you remove all the resistance to try and compress the air on the non firing cylinder, thus the engine can start and idle with only one cylinder firing.

Had the exact same issue when I had my SXi. Ended up being a bad stator. Replaced the stator and she ran great. I believe it is also possible to see these symptoms with a sheared woodruff key. Verify you have strong spark on both plugs and go from there.
