Like others have said, picture yourself in the same situation and thinking your going to receive those footholds when they are given to another person because the bag #'s were mixed up and all you get is an apology and something in return that isn't near the value of the footholds. I would be extremely pissed off as well if that happened to me.

I understand mistakes do happen, but telling someone what they won and give them something completely different that isn't of much value will make that person question the credibility of those members and how they treat others as well!!!!!!!

and by the same token

try to tell the guy with a better hand
oops i messed up even though you had the better hand you have to take the prize for the place lower than yours

it was a mistake .
what else can be said.?
dj said he was sorry to the guy
what else can he do

it suck but so does a lot in life
the weather and lake were great
and aside from this very little mess up( that could have been worked out im sure in a much more reasonable way)

all was great:Banane57:

good show dj

To all...

I do not feel I overreacted as the prize wasn't for me. It was for my daughter. If the prize had been for me I would have said **** it. My only option at the time was to ask why the switch. Had DJ taken the oportunity to explain the prize situation, that would have been the end of it.

Many things could have been done differently. Mistakes are how we learn. I have organized events in the past and have one coming this september. There are atleast ten members on the committee. So I understand and can appreciate the pressures involved.

Whether you agree or not the forum IS the place to settle this kind of issue, its allows for time and perspective. Getting angry and causing a scene at a boat ramp is NOT the way handle it for obvious reasons.

DJ apologized for the mistake/misunderstanding. For that I personally thank him. He is a man of Principle..that settles it.

Tha past is behind us...

I wanna see a pic of this girl that needs footholds, hell yeah!

Wish there were events like this in the NW though. Only thing even close that I know of is the blowsion party, which is "invite only." Guess I'll have to get the binoculars and hide out in the bushes to see a flip or two...

Ok? Even for $70, that's more than nozzle boring. At least where I get mine bored. Who pays $70 for nozzle boring? Almost any machine shop will do a nice tapered bore for you for $50 or less.

I do my own, for free, so I guess those would have been super cheap footholds?

I have dealt with RNR 2Strokes in the past for different parts. They are based out of Buffalo and have at least 2 members from this board that I know of. Great guys with great products. I am sure they will jump in to give more info about the footholds if necessary.

RacerX,

I have a couple Rock N Ride T-shirts that were not bought. If you give me your address in a PM, I will send one for you and your daughter.

Sorry again about the mix-up. My memory isn't what it used to be.

actually getting a bore for free ,you increase the value of the foothold

so rather have a free foothold that i would need to pay for. then a bore that i can get for free
:popcorn4:

hey easy on me now i am J/K

i think we should never blame a organizer for a mistake like this one...
he probably use 50% or more of his enjoyable time dealing with BS.
we had a tread like this one about daytona totally unfair IMO after Nick hard work

Where is SurfJetLouie with some footholds for this girl? I will also donate to offset some of the costs.

Good call with the t-shirts, DJ.

I hadn't intended to necro a dead post. I believe this issue had settled down and I don't want to see the crap stirred up. I just say that these same foot holds were on sale and wanted to mention it.

That's a super nice jet ski she has. I don't know your budget, speaking simply from the stance of 'nice things deserve nice things' that ski deserves better than the RNR part. But, it's pretty cheap on ebay atm.

:eek:fftopic:

Has anyone seen these RNR foot holds? Are they good for the price (as in a decent part but not as nice as a more expensive part) or are the a substandard POS? There's two pairs, and the girl would only need one. =)
