from what ive been told its not the o-rings that make the seal to hold in the compression. My ADA is 3 seasons old with no issues ,even after I detoed a topend real bad due to my stupidity . I then bored it and changed out the dome and it still runs like a timex .. this is just my experience with this head ... I would buy another ADA if i needed one . just as good as any other full girdled head IMO . I do believe too many guys reuse orings that have been compressed way too long under extreme heat and compression and then expect the head to seal like a new one with old orings !!! but that would ''fail'' under operator error ! also with used orings the domes will not be under the same compression forces to hold em in place and could potentially flop around . but what do I know ... h&ll I ride a couch !!!!!!!!!!
The reason I'm interested is that I had a blown o-ring in Daytona, replaced both with new ones and at least one of those is blown after only 1 day of riding.
I'm all for learning and wasn't aware of this potential issue and will do some checking when I pull the head to change o-rings. I still don't like a half girdle, but that's me based on how a cylinder cracked before.
stanton, if you're going to make a claim, back it up, provide a link. I wouldn't know what to search for right off hand and apparently you did, so help out...
....................... My point was don't reuse old orings unless you have to as a last resort ...... ''' been under extreme heat and MECHANICAL compression as in being"" SQUISHED "" or ''SMASHED to the point of being DEFORMED by head/ jug interference after bolting the head down ................ never mind ........I flunked Englishfrom what ive been told its not the o-rings that make the seal to hold in the compression.
You are a piece of work :lmao::headbang:Crap, I got to lower my chair. Hang on.............. Ok, lots of room between my knee's and the desk.
