Blaster Adding third pulse nipple

So I smartened up and got a new set of triple 44 sbn. Problem is, the kawi 1100 case has only 2 pulse fittlings.

I tried teeing off for the mag and center carb with the pto carb on its own but no fire. I guess having dedicated and even pulse lines matter. ( with a tee all pulse lines were diff lengths)

After some research and phone calls I find that I have to drilli/tap for a third pulse. I have a speed plate so easy off and enough room for a drill in blasters bilge. I was told with being careful and a vacuum I can do this while engine still is in the ski.

Will my reeds be directly under the fitting? I really don't want to take off manifold again

Yes that's the route I will take. Shortcuts are nice but can b $$$.
Any tips? Guess I'll need an ext for the tap? Anyone ever just use jb weld or something similar ?

I found a brass fuel splice barb in my parts. The inlet measures the same as pulses on case but OD is larger.
Was thinking I could grind/ taper one end then pound her in?
I never knew how involved in engines I would have to be just to ride. Love learning though

Ive drilled and jb welded in a pressed brass fitting before with no problems. I couldn't get the exact tolerance for the perfect "press fit", so a little JB on and slide her in!

Got her done. I believe the OD of the fitting after a few turns on the grinder to scuff it near 5/16 but tapered the end.
Drilled a 19/64 hole then used jb and the female end of my ratchet extension to pound on.
I did not know I needed to add an extra pulse w/ a carb conversion and the importance of them. I couldn't even get a blubber when i used a tee for the middle carb

I'd get a real pulse fitting from JetManiac, use red loctite, tap it in, and then put a bead of epoxy around the base of the fitting where it meets the manifold.

Oops, I was slow on the draw.

Didn't think of using loctite b/c there weren't threads but I guess it still creates a seal threads or not

I added a second pulse to my 750bp. I used a stock pulse fitting and jb weld. I thought I posted pics but I don't remember where. I used a hex speed load bits and a 8" extension, started with a small pilot hole and opened it up to eleminate wobble. I shoved a rag in the intake and ran the shop vac as I drilled. I put jb weld on the fitting then tapped in in with a 2-4oz hammer.

How did you guys drill the hole, did you use and extended drill bit to get the angle straight? Also, where is the best place to put it?

We sell a press in kit, WITH correct sized drill bit.

Although, I do not like to do it, I have done it in the hull with engine assembled. Remove carbs, intake, reeds, etc. Stuff a paper towel deep into the intake track. I then "grease" the drill bit to help hold shavings to it. I also us a vacuum to get all other shavings. I like to seal the pulse nipple with a little JB weld.

Thanks, I wouldn't do it with the engine in either. Where is the best place to drill the hole on the intake?

Yeah, I don't have those bits so I'll probably just pick up an extended bit. Can you tell me where you placed the hole?
