There's the Carolina Freeride but I wouldn't say its good surf. We will have some Hugo rides in Jacksonville this year. Wavedaze is twice a year so you could hit it in the fall

Minus 7 for FW and minus 1.5 for surf would be pretty nice on these hulls.

I was hoping for something sooner than fall, that's when our surf is good! But maybe still do fall WD and or Brigantine. Does the Gulf side get any surf?

I'm loving my Aquabot in surf which is currently same length as -7" Freak. I rode Sportfishs Chan in surf and had fun on it too.
Gulf = crappy surf

Agreed, my mold would have to be changed to go longer than -4.3, I doubt I will ever do that! Florida is long ways away to ride, just thought I could kill two birds going to AL. Sucks there's no surf! I guess my best bet is to make it over to Illinois side of Lk. MI in the spring, I really do wanna try out that Aquabot thought, just really like how it looks, reminds me of my French English bulldog.

Yeah man the Aquabot really grew on me. The V2 looks much nicer IMO and now after riding it, I'm totally sold. You definitely made your Freak more versatile and set it up the way Tem should make them but from his aspect more adjustability = less sales. He's no dummy. Plenty of people sell their Freaks to buy another one at a different length

Thanks guys, I won't be making it to wavedaze unfortunately my wires birthday is that Friday, and a good buddy's bachelor party on sat. Are there any other freerides on the east that have surf? I have friends in Gulf shores Alabama, I been meaning to make a trip there with skis, anyone ride surf near there?

It is hit or miss. We use to have a place there (Orange Beach).

Reason I say minus 1.5 freak for surf is that Sebastian Inlet when we go is overhead surf and when you ride down a huge wave on the shorter carbon hulls with speed they can get squirrely. But for regular size surf my -4.3 is radical, very fun and plenty short.

True, carbon weight makes a difference and hull design. I'm over the carbon hulls in surf. There isn't 1 "best setup" out there but adjustable tailplates make for a perfect dual purpose setup. Short glass hulls are where it's at IMO for surf. I've ridden overhead surf on the Aquabot and it was very natural feeling and stable. I'd like to try a -9" Titan still.
Jeastes -4.3 Freak was very fun in Daytona when I tried it, shorter should add to the fun factor. Can always change rideplate shapes to tune the handling

I am thinking a little heavier ski will make landings more forgiving, I have obviously added some weight in doing this and having bigger glass plate, but it should only make this hull flip easier at shorter length.
