By a chump on a -4.3 freak. :)

Please let us know who is flatwater flipping a stock hull with any motor........never seen it.

Board member Albanymotorsports on a stock SJ hull with 800ish PV motor, at flatwater Friday in Daytona in 2012. There is a video of it.

Some Dutch dude on an FX1 hull with a pretty big motor.

Also Spencer Wells, UK.
Probably others. It isn't that exclusive of a club.

A/m hulls with favorable geometry make it a lot more feasible for the average guy.
Lightweight carbon hulls make it even easier.
Big motors and pumps make it a virtual certainty.

I've never seen it. I'm not arguing the point, but that's the first I've heard of it. It's fairly exclusive......

I find it funny (or sad) that people act like Erik has done less of a job on this engine because it wasn't flatwater flipped in a stock RN, or there haven't been pics of the cylinder, or 5000 units produced. You don't see the same posts about Dasa, XS, EME, Powerhouse, etc. My point is its not even close to easy and it is a small group of pros that have accomplished it, yet it's put out there in a way that comes across as being derogatory towards Erik. It's a stock crank, stock stroke engine on 175 pounds, with a Solas pump. Not sure why there is so much "tension" here. I'm sure when he sells a few word of mouth will take over.......whether its good or bad remains to be seen, but either way, peeps will talk about their experience with it.

I wasn't trying to bag on the engine :). I hope I didn't come across that way.
I just wanted to address the stock hull flip thing.
If I could had to ID the two biggest factors in flatwater flipping, I'd have to say hull and motor package.

No, you didn't come across wrong at all. No problem here.

I guess my point is/was that flipping a stock hull is the exception, not the rule. I've never seen the question (can it flip a stock hull with normal rider) asked of any other builders engine. Just wondering why Erik gets beat up so much. You guys have no idea how much money, blood, sweat, and tears he's put into this. Hes a great guy that wants to market a good product. If people don't like it, or dont think it performs, them they can buy something else. It's quite simple. He's not out there making outrageous claims about it either, but takes a good beating over it. I guess it comes with the territory. Time will tell what others will think.

I don't see anyone bashing, in this thread at least. The only jackass was the guy asking for pictures of the bottom of the cylinder. I think we are all very anxious to see what this thing can do.

And for the record......Erik isn't posting here very often because he is so busy trying to get everything lined up and dialed in. He such a good dude, that is why there are a lot of people here posting and offering good words about him. If you get a chance to meet and talk to him at one of the rides, he will stop what he is doing to talk and answer any questions you might have. He will go the extra mile to make sure your questions are answered and even dumb down the explanations so guys like me can understand how 2 strokes really work. Be ready for a thorough conversation.......no such thing as a quick chat with Erik haha.

If Phil Clemmons says these motors are good to go, rest assured, the motors are putting out some great power and are good to go. Ask anyone about Phil's tuning and attention to detail.

My home away from home.
I'm just hanging patiently.. Looking forward to talking to Eric, but in no rush at all. There's been some really solid experienced builders that have liked his design and that's good enough for me. I'm very stoked to say the least on the design and can't wait to try one out. But like said. I'm in no hurry... Just hangin and soaking it all in.

I dont see any bringin anyone down here at all or bashing, just some basic questions and statements, Ive seen light weight sj hulls at full length get back flipped by amateur riders on stock stroke motors in vids, SS dasa 850 was one of them. What does that have to do with the price of tea in china though? Doesnt make this motor any less viable

I dont think anyone is bashing on him, but i have read all 33 pages either. But i think that anyway thT does, can show me their engine they are building off of there own budget and time and tell me its better. And i have nothing but the most reapect for chris and his designs and work. I definetly agree that he has answered all questions the best he can and is a great guy like 701chris said, i asked a ton of partially dumb questions and scenarios and he answered every one and all, about my 61x and down to how powervalve engines work. Im stoked to see this motor in any stock ski and wait for the bada$$ results that will come. And like jay said im just waiting fir the fun, no need to worry or criticize until the engines are in every average joes ski.

I've got affordable power now but I bet I'll want more power that's affordable soon. 701 chris, that video makes it look too easy...I've got lots of work ahead cause that's my current goal.
