straight from Erik today: OEM 46's at a minimum. He's checking with Ed B. today to get an ETA on the purpose built Full Specs. There will be a bit of time needed to play around with them to get everything dialed in. But, as everyone that got a chance to test the motor out at the Carolina ride can attest to, the wait will be worth it. Should have more info later tonite.

The new carbs will be based off of Mikuni 46's and given new barrels/bomb sites by Full Spec. The first set should be ready this week and sent out to a veteran builder/tuner to play around with and dial in. Once they are happy with them it will just be a matter of supply from Mikuni before they are offered for sale. Retail is targeted for the low $700's.

Now that the pre-production motor has been dialed in and the true power potential has been demonstrated, full production is on the way. Should have some more news to share after the weekend. Keep an eye out here and facebook for updates on when Erik will be ready to start taking deposits. more info very soon...............

I spoke with Ed about this in length to originally get this budget carb setup for this motor,Price was about 700 to put a similar bell housing in a 46 with a diff style venturi,bomb site. These are not the like the old style 46s that were done for xs and others in the past. Approx 47 mil with a inner smaller venturi to increase signal and help create a linear curve for surf and rec riding...If you want the full tilt light switch power band for flatwater,youll want the newer fs 49s.
If budget is maxed go with oem 46s for all around decent performance and flow......

Thats $700 for the carbs from Full Spec, or $700 plus the cost of the Mikuni 46s? If its the former, wow, this just keeps getting better. Since its Full Specs, Rad Valves would be the right set up?

Of course 700 from FS complete,the whole initial point of doing this motor was budget hp. Rad valves is another story,depending on what intake you have,there are some other options there

Well, two weeks keeps turning into two more weeks unfortunately. Now that everything is finally lining up and going according to plan, two weeks out sounds solid. We will have more info this weekend. Erik will be speaking with the factory and should have a solid timeline. News coming very soon.
