Thanks guys for all the props... I've rode short hulls & its what I want for the surf. I know its not going to be a wave riding/slashing ski but I'm not looking for that. I want to go big, off axis, flips & rolls, etc.

Going to have 2 ride plates to help, one for surf & one for flatwater.. I had a real hard time not putting a Dasa 1000 or 1100 is this ski..

Started building it today, more pics tomorrow

Sold the freak complete... I really wanted to build a short ski that I could ride both flatwater & surf... I know the freak is 70 lbs lighter, lol but I like change.. Something new to play with

I'm really impressed with RRP, everything is simple bolt up and go. My fingers aren't samll enough to fit to install the motor mount bolts. That job wasn't the greatest.. Everything has lined right up, nice now pump bolts & ride plate bolts are included. Rickter has to be the best fit & finish A/M hull out there, it might not stay pretty but sure looks good right now.

Ski is coming together, should have the few parts I'm missing by Thursday...

Few more details... Got all the bypass fittings done, gotta love Dasa with the 4 over flows... Also made the battery fit in the left rear corner. Installed inserts, turfed the battery. Its not coming out thats for sure

Loving the pic and tips, wil help me loads when mine arrives in Feb.

Is that a type 4 dry on the floor? - had mine polished recently, bling up your engine bay!

Great looking pipe right there... Yeah that's a type 4 I bought, was going to run it with this setup but bought a power factor..

I'm going to have mine done just like yours...

I plan to build another superjet with a fixsteer hood over the winter so I will use that pipe.

Ha! That's why I had this one polished (to sell) - I've order a PFP as well, they seem out of stock though

I ran the type 4 on a xs1k and just changed over to the power factor on the same ski. (XFR) You may be surprised at the power extracted from the old type 4's.

As in better than the PFP?

The power is nice, and it also allows you to run OEM tank, waterbox, and battery tray. The rickter seems to be the only AM hull it will fit in other than the Lenzi. Since you have it and the powerfactor is hard to get at the moment, give it a try. BTW it will not fit on the DASA 1100 and clear the hood on the XFS. Sorry Josh for dumping your build thread.

No worries tricky... Good info...

I may try the type 4 due to no power factors to be found... Just have to make a bracket to bolt up to the Dasa head.

Keen to see the 'MSD TL system with custom enclosed water proof box' - which box are you using and where to you plan to mount it?

Also how did to secure the battery there and does it obscure the scupper?

The battery I installed 2 inserts just behind the motor mount plate infront of the scupper. Water can flow under, around either side and still flow out the scupper.mthe battery sits about 1.5 inch in front of the scupper. I learned along time ago water will find away, lol... I turfed the battery sides, top and bottom . Installed one insert on the motor mount plate and the other just in front of the scupper. The battery fits tight, I mean tight. It's hard to move without the strap, but once you strap it your locked in. I'm going to install a 90 deg bracket to keep it from sliding out side ways.

We found a huge improvement moving the battery to the bulkhead on the Superfreaks . Since I'm going to be running just a 3 gal jaz tank up front the battery in rear will counter some of that nose weight.

I cleaned up the intake grate a little, not perfect like I did my freak but better than stock.
