Just picked up my new Full Glass wet layup Surf Badass.... Tem did a great job making a glass hull.... I love my light FW freak, but to me a 80-90lb freak for the surf is going to be unreal. I'm not a big fan of 50lb hulls in the surf, I think a little weight really helps. This is the perfect surf ski imo..

Big Thanks to Tem @ Superfreak for building great hulls to customer spec, Also
Big Thanks to Brian at Thrust for all his help with the motor, trim, you name it he's got it... Chris Jetmaniac for all those little build parts!

And man if Lucas didn't push me to buy another ski, my wifes going to kill him!

Details:

-1.5 Glass wet layup hull, center re enforced with Carbon 83.4 lbs with footholds, pump shoe, inserts, Carbon exhaust tube.

Hood Bomb proof Carbon, vacuum bag, etc 8.6 lbs

Build will have the following installed

Superfreak full length Carbon pole (6-7lbs)

RRP Steering system
Thrust Straight pull Trim
144 Mag or Thrust pump, 14/19 prop
Pro Tec Nozzle by Thrust

Motor:
Thrust built Dasa 846cc SS setup for Avgas, Full Spec 46's & intake, B pipe, XM waterbox, ATP Epic, TBM FW.....

Thats the basic setup, should make a great surf ski, still pretty light, good power....

Thats vacuum bagged epoxy fiberglass hull..... list on Tem's website

My new hull above is a wet layup glass, ester resin, etc... Going to be the cheapest way to own a Superfreak Badass

Right now me & lucas will be testing these hulls to see if we can cause any failures, I think Tem will be offering these wet layup hulls soon...

This ski feels bomb proof!

Picking colors now

Really curious to compare your ski to mine in the surf. I might have to bolt race weights in my hull if I like it! Are you going to have it built by Wave Daze? I am still hoping to make it down there if I can get off work.

Tem rode Lucas's ski yesterday & was very impressed. Seems the extra weight really made the ski turn (Carve) nice... The real test will be on a big surf day, we just need surf... VB is still not 100%, my room is booked.. But I coach my sons football team & the play offs are that weekend....

Your going to like it, no short poles, pure surf ski with the right balance on the weight...... Pismo in Oct, gonna be me, Tem, Lucas heading ur way!

So I wanted to save some money on paint. All my other builds have been 200-500 on paint plus $400-500 for the painter..... My freak I wanted to see if I could save some money. After using some decent primer to fill the pin holes, I made a trip to Advance Auto Parts for some Dupli Color crap, Hard to beat at $22 per qt, thats color, paint, primer, or clear... Not bad.... Next I wanted to try a HVLP spray gun, I've always used gravity feed guns.... It will take some practice with the HVLP gun to make it look perfect, but theres almost no over spray...

I painted the bottom Red & Blk with a Met. Clear .... Put some dumb stickers on there

I'm looking forward to see how well this paint holds up......
