It’s totally possible at 15k. Not gonna happen until there’s a big enough customer base or a company takes a big risk assuming there will be a customer base if they release a ski at that price. Again though, I think there’s a lot of people out there that don’t even know freestyle jet skiing exists. Sorry to thread jack BTW.
at 15K im still talking about peopling building it themself. It will never happen with a new carbon ski, with billet engine ect ect at 15k :)

How many people are there in the entire united states (my apologies to the people who live outside of the united states but I think to make my point I can use the US) who are capable of a combo of more than one backflip?

over 100?

I'm using the example of a combo of more than one backflip as in, if you can't do that you're probably not competing in freestyle or at least you're not worried about 900cc's vs 1200 cc's or 800cc's or whatever.

You're not going to get significant cost reductions from economy of scale in a market with ~100 ish customers. Not even if you are doubling or tripling the size of the market.

Realistically you should be talking about trying to get maybe 30 of those 100 people to compete as opposed to the 20 that are now.

20? Pro Watercross Averaged maybe 3 entries per event. To get 20 would be freaking awesome!!!!!!!!! There are so many riders on here that are capable of competing, except they dont compete..........

I mean total in the entire country.

Did world finals have 20? (I know they have some that are not from the US).

I would check the results to see, but they are not posted because it's a secret.

Brave The Wave had 36 riders in 3 Freestyle classes last Aug as a Fun Event, with Unheard of Prize money!! This season Brave / Ryan Kulka have teamed up with Great Lakes Watercross to have a Triple Crown Freestyle series! Thats what the sport needs!!!

THat's fantastic.

Anywhere that I can find pictures/videos/results?

Not seeing any results, I wanted to see how the numbers split up in the various classes. Actually not sure what the classes were, looks like this:

Are there a lot of stock hull 800 riders?

It should stay 900cc but add an exception for stock stroke so the 964's/967's can run. More power makes aerial tricks easier. Bumping it up to 1200 doesn't help those on a budget. The top "amateur" riders on 10mil 900s will just go buy a Bun B21r and be just a far ahead as they are now.
Maybe some kind of handicap could be introduced?? Let's say everyone must display their motor size on the side of their hull. Take the motor displacement and multiply it by the riders penis length and then subtract that from the final score. This would help me out a lot.

I would say 10 people competed nation wide at regional races total (Not counting Brave the Wave).

@Sparkplug is right. I'd like to make a case that he's wrong to mess with him but he's right.

How long until there's a "rickter invert combo" event where you just backflip till you pass out and fall?

And the sad part is the players are unicorns or unicorns with kids. That's cause of what everyone said about manufacturer's influence.

Why is stand up jet ski free style a backflip competition? They said so. It's licoriceed. Lenzi rolling a wanilton light superjet and zipping all around the thing is cooler than watching kids ride 30k backflip boats. Maybe make an old f*ck oem class? Right now your just trying to sell backflips to unicorns!

There are enough rich kids around. You need to get more of them interested in doing a backflip on an expensive boat that someone else produced. Or find a way to make hood tricks on old boats cool to the average kid. It may be difficult considering how few 20 year olds know what a standup is. Ask one if they ever heard of John Wayne.

Because of this post I realized there wasn't any good history of the video or results of World Finals out there. So with Brian's permission, I took his Facebook live videos and put them on Youtube. At least now maybe someone can go back and watch them. His commentary and his access to everything is great.
