I was just curious as to who jas competed. As Far as BTW comment. I don't believe it was a sanctioned event ( I could be wrong). And I said "it counts for this purpose...
Ok I guess I just woke up grumpy. I've probably been to 15 or so freestyle events. Tried to compete once but had a mechanical issue after warm up, right as my name was called. Pretty embarrassing moment. Could've tried again the next day but just wasn't feeling the vibe. It wasn't a very inviting atmosphere for a rookie freestyler. They announcers and organizers seemed annoyed that they even had to do freestyle. I wish there were more events like Brave the Wave. I'd like Ski only, smaller race courses, vintage class races, freestyle 800/1000/1400. Sit-downs and stand-ups just don't belong together. Same way quads and dirt bikes don't mix.

A freestyle comp is definitely an inconvenience to racing, but I don't blame them. Motocross and snowcross don't combine events with their freestyle counterparts because it just doesn't make sense time wise. Hopefully brave the wave keeps catching on and can lay the change our small niche sport needs.

When I was competing "Full Time", Seamed like almost half of the competitors raced also!!!!!!!!! Personally I think it works. They do it during "Lunch Break" it gives everyone time to get something to snack on, etc etc.

Keep am eye on what Brave promotor, Ryan Kulka is doing! Ryan has just teamed with Great Lakes Watercross, to hold in conjunction with their Racine (6/18-19) and Kenosha (8/13-14) the Triple Crown of Freestyle (Brave being the third event 8/6) while GLW events are closed course race also, the Freestyle will be run alongside the racing.
the events will also feature a Freeride section. A Lot of Action going on at one time! Freestyle will Not be an after thought in the Triple Crown! Stay tuned for Ryans announcements here on the X

This is Exactly what part of the problem is! Freestyle during Lunch Break! We are an after thought! A sort of side show! Not ! I do agree that racers do make the best freestylers! History has proven that! Malone, Ripper, Watkins, Lenzi, as well as many others, started as racers before turning to Freestyle Full time. Racing conditions consistency, control, finess, as well as several other traits required to perform as a freestyler. We all need to start someplace, but we do not need to be the Side Show! Again, watch for things to change this season with Ryans Triple Crown!

Well, let me rephrase, Mike had us run 1st, then we would do a second round at Lunch. I think he started this in 2006. It kinda sucked, because my first race was always Race 1! Get through competing, my ski would be at the line ready to go. Would have to call a 2 minute hold to catch my breath!!!!!!!!! Damn I miss it!

I searched for this info before via google and didn’t find any, but after reading the Op’s first post again today, I realized I should look more… Iam sure a lot of you have seen it already but if you haven’t, here it is… I thought the post was quite informative and inclusive to everyone in the community regardless of your Competition experience or lack there of…

Just noticed Scott Frasier‘s name :(

Oh my, Here’s another one lol
