Picked this deal up today with the help of ScottS. Still not sure which of us is going to end up with this yet but it is crazy light and outstanding quality. I'm going to order a new galvanized axle tomorrow and swap all my hardware over from my old trailer so i can finally haul it's corpse to the dump.

The plan is to build a crazy lightweight and simple trailer that will tow like a dream.

Did I mention we only paid $110 for it? She was very firm on the price too, that's what she asked, that's what we paid, lol.

I guess I know where my 10 Gallon water tank is going now too. I snagged it off the discount shelf at Northern Tool for $25 and had it running in under 30 minutes.

nice, ill give you 150 for it and you can make a quick profit

You can have the one that's leaning up against the shed...yes/no? :dunno:

The new one needs an axle and new tires before it can go anywhere.

Who builds a crazy light Aluminum trailer and then sticks a painted steel axle under it? Triton does I guess, lol.

I get everything at either West Marine or Northern Tool but the fence and gate section at Lowes has had some pretty good prices on stainless hardware lately.

can you get an alum axle?
Killer deal on it !

I was going to ask Steve Schoettle if he could do something for me but his axle is steel and very rusty so I'm thinking not, lol.

Looks like a new axle is definitely first priority.

Installed a brand new galvanized axle today as well as new hubs, leaf springs and galvanized rims/tires. Put it to the test immediately and hauled an old hull to the dump before I tear off the couch bunks and convert it to a double standup trailer tomorrow.

Did you shorten the tongue length on yours? I was thinking of shortening it up as tight as I could go while still being able to jacknife it. I may end up moving the axle forward as well...

Congrats. I scored a nice Triton LT double aluminum trailer for not much more last week. I had planned on just reselling, but after using it yesterday it will be staying in my hands for quite some time. Absolutely love it.

You dumped that 00 GPR ?
Shame.

Yup, Mamma was tired of mowing around it in the back yard.

You could have sold that hull!

Yes, you would think I could but I had it listed as "free to a good home" for the last 4 months and had 3 different deals fall thru. It's the fouth hull I've taken to the dump and I have no problems trashing something that's worthless to me. Every deal so far on a "free" hull has ended up costing me nothing time and money.

Yup, what sold me was the all welded aluminum frame. My last trailer was fully galvanized and still rusted out and left me on the side of the road twice. I know this one will stand the test of time so I'm putting a little extra into it knowing I'm going to have it a long time.

This one is 13' 4" tip to tail. I think the pic makes it look longer cause I have the couch hanging off the back some.

I got the bunks, spare tire and tongue jack installed today but got stumped on removing the old plastic fenders so i could install a galvanized set. All the old hardware was so rusted there's not enough of the heads to get a wrench on. Grinding or drilling the bolts just melts the fender, grrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am replacing all the hardware as I go with stainless, I hate rust and corrosion!!
