I know, I heard the same thing about the AG batteries and that's why I bought a couple. Maybe I should have waited a bit longer before posting how awesome the EarthX are but so far it's doing much better than the AG ever did.

Good to hear.

I just remember hearing how durable and awesome the AG batteries were for a few months after they came out. I got one, it lasted 2 weeks and then everyone came out saying how crappy they are.

Let's go back a little further.

'Hey, anyone hear about this great new battery, Shorai makes it?'
'Hey since Shorai isn't working out and the terminals are garbage, here's a new company with watercraft specific batteries, Ballistic! They are awesome'
'Ballistics suck and so does their warranty, but here's the uber-best company ever: Anti-Gravity! You cannot go wrong!'
'EarthX!'

You see where this is headed.

I am stuck with having to use a small battery in my xfr after 100's of dollars on ballistic AG and shorai chargers and the frustration of dead high dollar batteries Im back to deka Ext 9 and bought a small generator to charge on the beach IMO these batteries are not ready for Stand ups with TL

I would use 2 batteries and charge them at home with a slow rate charger. Trying to charge a small deka that is hot and with faster rate of charge isnt good and will kill it also.

TL is not the issue........these batteries are far better suited for total loss than any lead acid.

There is however no denying the fact that there are several people having issues with them. I can assure you it's not the TL doing it ;)

If anything, as long as the user is not over-discharging the battery with TL, the charging with a proper balance charger (doesn't apply to AG, though) should be far better than a stock PWC charging system.

The lithium batteries don't require a balance charger, you just can't charge them faster than 2a. If you want to go faster then it needs to be balanced. And you are right, the lithiums are not designed for total loss. That is why RC cars have a voltage shut off point for lipo.

Total loss is the issue indeed

Not hardly bud. I'm not here to start arguments, so we can agree to disagree. I've been using lithium technology for almost 10 years now, am a dealer for Antigravity, and have sold quite a few of these.

Can you please explain why you feel total loss is the issue, in detail?

Well, it looks like theres NO GOOD BATTERY even if money isnt the issue. Maybe a Jetworks or Odyssey is still the best option if you are not a pro rider.

In my experience, the 'real test' is cold weather, the off-season, longer periods between uses, etc. Four weeks is just barely past getting it out of the box :clown:

I was referring to more downtime in the colder weather, not temperature effect on the battery.

who cares if tl is the problem, there are many others failing for all diff reasons, mainly the pathetic weak cases cracking and leaking, anyone have any solid solutions for reinforcing and sealing these on the top where it seals to the sides and around the terminals that crack so easy? I tried epoxy and didnt have enough strength to keep the terminals from cracking the plastic around them?
