Just get a Honda Helix and be done. 70mpg 75mph and it sorta looks like a jetski.
Lol, yeah those older ktms were good woods bikes and that’s about it. Any of the 250’s are slow compared to any off the bigger bikes. Only one that feels like a bigger bike is the Yamaha wr250x. Based off the yzf engine somewhat but it taps out early n screams down a highway.Man I rode this today and it felt like it had the power of a moped! https://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/d/2002-ktm-250-exc-rfs/6658982609.html
I loved it other than a complete lack of power.
I'm on a budget this time around. I should have never sold my WR450f...
The long highway rides on some of these bikes are not very comfortable after an hour anyways. A good thing to look at if you want to do more road driving than usual is maybe looking into a set of super moto rim sets. Usually for around $1000, you can get both rims with tires along with a sprocket rear disc attached. Dual sports don’t do great at both. Some are better than others at certain things. Riding capabilities n terrain play a big role into them.I don't consider the drz400 much of a 50/50 bike if you plan on riding long. The seat and gearing are the limiting factor.
There’s 3 models of the drz also. A off-road only version. Will have a tighter gear range. The true dualsport version and super moto. Their gearing will be more aimed for street travel. My ktm 530 excr is the same way. I put the off-road gearing on it. Tops out almost at 90mph. And it’s scary. Stock gearing they said would do about 110mph. Never no way Jose. To squirrly. I’ve ridden a kx500 on a moto track and booked down a road on a turbocharged gsxr 1000 and my ktm at top speed is way more nuts. Mainly bc it has 50/50 tires that are not balanced. But it rips in the trails. As far as the drz seat. Well your probably correct on that. But there’s company’s that make better seats for those long rides. Guts, corbin etc.I don't consider the drz400 much of a 50/50 bike if you plan on riding long. The seat and gearing are the limiting factor.
Nice! Yeah that’s not a bad deal. Make sure it’s jetted good with the exhaust and keep a clean air filter in it and your ripping through woods and having fun going out and getting a cup of coffee. Lol. Hit me up if you ever har any questions with it for any type of maintenance stuffHere we go again! It is a good thing I never got that Yamaha tattoo I have always wanted.
I have never owner a Honda other than a old goldwing for a few weeks a long time ago.
This thing rips!! I am not sure yet but it feels like it has more torque than my WR450f had.View attachment 360388View attachment 360389View attachment 360390View attachment 360391View attachment 360392View attachment 360393
Sportbike technology. Lol. Basically a single cylinder Cbr. Just imagine what a new fuel injection mix bike rides like. They are very hi tech now. The new Yamaha yz’s can be tuned from your smart phone. Best mods for that bike are exhaust, jetted with a jd jet kit or equivalent, air filter that gets rid of the metal screen on the inside and a boysen quick shot for the accelerator pump on the carb. Throw some vp vpr fuel or u 4.4 and it will smell good too.Man it snappy! how did they get a 4 stroke 450 to rev this quickly! DADGUM!
